The Written Writ
He’s finally writing

At Bitten Apple TV, our premise has always been simple: give people a bite of the apple! A chance to explore something meaningful, creative, and honest. Life has been a whirlwind lately, and while I’ve had to step back and handle personal matters, my incredible business partner, The Written Writ (Ralf), has gracefully taken the reins and continued to carry the heart of our company forward.
Bitten Apple TV was born from the idea of creating a fun, eclectic blend of shows; something that would feel like a modern-day G4, but with its own unique flavor. The concept was always about diversity in content and passion. For instance, I host a true crime segment; you could say I’m the “spooky apple”… or maybe the “sour one,” depending on the day!
We’ve always loved going to conventions, not just for the spectacle, but to spotlight the hidden gems, the small businesses, the indie creators, the mom-and-pop shops that often go unnoticed in the shadows of giants like Marvel and DC. At events like New York Comic Con, it’s easy to be dazzled by the big names, but what excites us is finding the independent authors, artists, and dreamers who are simply there to live their dream.
That’s the heartbeat of Bitten Apple TV; to shine a light on people and projects that matter. To say, “We see you. We believe in what you’re creating. And others should too.” Not everyone is chasing the path of a massive corporation. Some are just hoping to connect with others, share their stories, and feel like their work has value.
So if doing an interview, sharing a post, or capturing a moment helps someone get closer to their dream; even just a little & then why not do it? Why not celebrate that magic we find in the Big Apple… or anywhere in the tri-state area, really?
Ralph has always been a gifted writer. But like many creatives, he’s faced moments of deep discouragement…those quiet, heavy pauses where the pen feels too heavy to lift. remember him once sharing a story that’s always stuck with me. Back in college, writing was his greatest passion; it was all he wanted to do. He was deeply in love with storytelling, especially fantasy, with favorites like The Princess Bride fueling his imagination. A devoted comic book collector, he poured himself into his work and was fully immersed in a writing assignment when he turned to a professor he admired; someone he viewed as a mentor for guidance.
But instead of support, he was met with cruelty. That professor told him he would never become a successful writer, dismissing his efforts and crushing the dream he had held so dearly. The way he retold that moment… you could tell it left a deep mark. It wasn’t just disappointing; it was devastating. It was, for him, a turning point; one that shattered his confidence.
He’s come a long way since then. He’s writing again, growing, and even thriving in many ways. But I can’t help but think every now and then; he still needs that reminder: that his voice matters, and his stories deserve to be told.
Since joining the platform Vocal, I’ve watched him and myself, blossom more comfortably into the writer’s identity. Vocal isn’t just a place to publish your thoughts. It’s a community of writers supporting writers, cheering each other on, and maybe even earning a little pocket change along the way. Whether it’s enough to buy a cup of coffee or support another writer’s work with a $3/month subscription, it makes a difference. In many ways, it feels like the TikTok of writing; a short-form expression with long-form meaning.
Despite all Ralph does for others with producing shows, uplifting fellow creatives, and giving his time freely; he’s only recently reached a milestone that deserves major celebration of his first story has just been published in a book. It’s a beautiful moment, and one that deserves attention.
So today, I want to shine a spotlight on Ralph not just for what he’s written, but for what he’s built. I hope more readers find their way to his Vocal page. I hope more fans, likes, comments, and subscribers flood in. Because when we lift each other up, when we support each other’s stories, we become more than writers we become a family of voices echoing in the same direction.
Here’s to more stories. More readers. And more bites of the apple.

Oh what a lovely tribute to Ralph 😍 I had a professor two terms ago that was so caustic I almost quit school, but I decided to be determined to shake his dust off my feet and keep moving. I love the energy here, the willingness to see the world through a panoramic view. Well done and well said! ❤️😁😊
