The story of the Cat Lady

Well Mary was a divorced mother to six children.Brandon, William,Emily, Brian, Travis, and Nevaeh.She just ended her last relationship of seven years with James six months earlier,well her relationship was not real,turns out her boyfriend,James, was only with her because he wanted to have sex with her daughter from her previous marriage.There were signs that that was his intention,but Mary kept ignoring them and kept saying he loves me , he would never do that to me. Mary trusted him because she had a daughter , Nevaeh, with him and she loved him and thought he wanted to be a husband and father to her family.

His intentions were never good though,Mary found his little black book and found he still called and messaged his ex wife and ex girlfriends. When Mary confronted him about this he didn’t deny it, but he put a lock on his phone so she couldn’t see anything on his phone anymore.That was when Mary should have realized he was a liar and put him out of her home. He always denied it saying he didn’t talk to them but for his kids,he was talking to them about more than their children. Even caught talking to his ex and in numerous lies he still tried to say he wasn’t talking to anyone.Mary kept giving him chances though because she loved him and she thought he has to love me and our beautiful daughter we have together.He would never hurt Nevaeh and me like that.

Well Mary won a lottery prize of $20,000 and since she hadn’t been on a vacation in five years,she decided to plan a trip to the beach with James and her children.Feeling very happy and excited she packed for the trip and had James go since he had vacation time he could take from his job. Mary thought it would be the perfect time for James to spend time with their young daughter, Nevaeh, she was just 6 years old. Everything seemed perfect and Mary secretly hoped that they would get back together and James would want to marry her.Mary had strong feelings for James and trusted even when she shouldn’t have because of their daughter together.He said he wanted to be her children’s stepdad. Mary foolishly believed him.

The vacation at the beach seemed to be great but when they returned home Mary noticed her daughter Emily acting strange,she sat in the dining room and started to tear up and began to cry. Mary was confused by this, “why are you crying, are you sick?”

“Yes” her daughter Emily replied “I think I’m pregnant”

“But you don’t have a boyfriend,how could you be pregnant?”replied Mary.

Emily just began to cry harder and James began to act very strange and he ran to the store to get a pregnancy test. Mary had a very uneasy feeling, something is not right here with his reaction.

Emily took the test when he returned,and it was positive,she was pregnant. She just cried and Mary demanded to know who the father was and that she would find out when the baby is born.Mary then realized James was acting strange still and he finally told Mary that he had had sex with Emily during the vacation that Mary had paid for,he betrayed Mary in the worst way.Mary crying uncontrollably said “How could you? Did you want to hurt me like this? Why? What did I do to deserve this?” Mary had wanted another baby with James but she had a miscarriage years earlier and nearly died. She hemorrhaged and had to have emergency surgery to stop the bleeding. Mary tried for years with James but never could conceive another child. Now her daughter was having the baby she wanted,now she would have to be the grandmother to the baby she wanted. Mary demanded he leave and never come back around her home again or he would be arrested. How could he be so cruel? How could he be so heartless to someone who gave him a beautiful daughter like Nevaeh? Mary just couldn’t believe that this all had happened.

After months,Mary and Emily cried together and hurt but started healing and coming back together. They talked about everything and prepared for the baby that would be coming.They began adopting cats from the humane society. They love the cats and it helped the whole family to be closer and Mary vowed to stay single forever. That she would never be able to trust another man around her children ever again. Mary also started counseling every week. The hurt from loving and trusting someone who could do this to her was overwhelming her. She couldn’t sleep, she needed melatonin to help her sleep. She had sleep apnea and has always been tired and never had any problems sleeping before. She was just so heartbroken. She cried a lot. But talking to a counselor helped her.

Now the family is doing better than ever. Mary is working on her credit score to buy a home,finally things were looking up,her score was 652, and have a yard for her children and grandkids and everyone is very happy and waiting for the arrival of the new baby girl in the family. Mary realized she would be happy with her family and she will be doing better than ever on her own with her family. A father was never needed to be in their lives.

Happy to be on her own, something Mary never thought she would feel, but she felt wonderful with her family and their cats helped to make them all feel better. They eventually adopted five cats, Kay Kay was a beautiful orange and white tabby cat. They adopted Lola a beautiful gray and white kitty.From the humane society they got Whitney Houston, a beautiful white cat. Then they fostered Ruby and Charlie and tortiese shell and a black male kitty.

All the cats made Mary so happy, and her family.But they realized they needed to move to a home and get out of the small apartment they were in.

Well Mary decided to look for a home with a basement and at least 2 acres for her kids and grandkids. That is her goal to get her family moved, preferably to a place where they could own more pets or animals if they want to.

Mary realized she didn’t need a relationship with anyone,she is happy with her family and her kids and no evil man to hurt her or her family.They had all they wanted and needed with their cats and each other.

So Mary began looking at homes for sale all over Virginia and different states and places, but she knows her family would not want to live anywhere but Virginia. That’s where they were born and where their family has been all of their lives. Mary planned to move and to get more cats and live happy with her family forever.

Something she dreaded all her life though was being single, to die alone, like her mom had. She remembered her mom saying that she wasn’t meant to be alone in her olden years, but Mary’s father passed away years ago.But Mary realized that she was not alone. She had all that she would ever need in her life. The love of her children and her cats was all she would ever need. Mary was raised in Barboursville , Virginia with lots of cats and dogs and horses and ponies.

It is in her to be a pet owner, she will always love animals, and especially her cats. Her children Brandon, her oldest son, William, he was a special needs person and had seizures and delays. Then her daughter Emily and she had two more boys Brian and Travis from her marriage of 18 years with their father, Henry from Missouri. Emily to be having a baby from the man that Mary had a daughter with,was hard to deal with,but nothing would come between Mary and Emily, especially no evil man like James. After this he was never allowed to come to Mary’s home or be around her children or grandchildren ever again. Mary got a protective order and used it to keep James away , if he broke the order Mary told him he would go to jail.

Mary felt relief to be able to be with her family and neither of her ex’s could bother them ever again.

Emily didn’t see what was wrong with James wanting to be with her at first.But after everything, she realized how what he did was wrong, and how she was sorry for hurting her mom, Mary.

Together they prepared for the arrival of the baby girl Emily was having and got all baby things together and clothes. They were happy and excited to be meeting this new addition to their family, Mary’s granddaughter. The only thing that has ever been important to Mary has been her family and that a boyfriend or husband wasn’t what she needed. She all ready had all she ever needed, her family and their five cats.

Nevaeh had it hard though she had to go from seeing her dad almost daily since her birth to every weekend or every other weekend with her dad, James. Mary would not let Nevaeh visit him unless it was supervised visits only. He had betrayed her trust and Mary would not even trust him with Nevaeh now because she didn’t know what he would do, but he wouldn’t get the chance to hurt her family anymore ever again.

Well Mary’s home search is still going and her score is still getting better, it’s still going up every month,she has a hard time waiting for the time when she can apply for a loan to get a home. But the Mary’s family can only imagine how nice a yard will be and they will be able to get out of the apartment they are in. They want it for their cats, they don’t want to live anywhere where they can’t have the cats they love. They want to live in a home where no one can tell them what they can and can’t have. Living in a apartment, it’s usually limited pets they will allow.

Mary has had so much heart and disappointment from the two men she was in relationships with, that she didn’t want to lose the cats that her family has grown to love. So she is searching and planning and praying they get to move into a home with a yard. Mary will never stop and nothing could ever hurt her again as she had been hurt before.

Emily and Mary talked daily about homes and businesses they could start. Endless opportunities and possibilities for them and their family. Daily Mary looked at homes for sale and in their price range but she couldn’t apply for any because the credit beureas hadn’t all updated her higher credit score. Mary found out it could take three to six months for them to update. So it would be a while before she could apply for a home.

It was hard to see so many homes she wanted to try to get,it was like teasing herself to see the homes that would be perfect for her family. She came up with things she wanted in a home. She wanted four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a basement a plus, and 2+ acres.A yard for William, Nevaeh, and her grandkids was a must have.

So many beautiful homes that Mary could imagine her family, and her beloved cats living in and enjoying. That kept Mary going to think about what she wanted to achieve, and accomplish for her family and their cats.

Searching realtor.com daily seeing so many different places and prices.Price range would be under $200,000 but it was hard to find what Mary was looking for in that price range. But Mary would never give up she was so excited about being on her own and never depending on anyone ever again. Just her family and her cats.
