The sounds of love and the voices it chose.

Introduction.

Cursed with a gift.

In life there are primarily two schools of thought. The paths and the streams. Paths require you have a strong and heavy heart. Streams require you have a cool and steady head. Although there are countless paths, they all lead nowhere, and that is where they mean to. There are a lot of streams, and unlike paths they lead somewhere. The hope is to one. When you take a path, you agree to give what you must. When you’re in a stream you are committed to accepting what you can.

Once in a while and on any given day, I sit back for a moment or two and ask myself. How many people in this world have commitments and how many have agreements? Of the commitments, which are committed, and of the agreements which are willing? Who desperately desires and who is being ungratefully entitled. I have the privilege of being able to say that I know myself; And yet, still I ask. How do I judge a day? Although I can, I may not. Even though I am, it is uncertain if I will. Lastly, just because I have, is no consent to a confident “I do”. It feels easier when it is hard to know because with a glance, we could sentence ourselves to centuries of the present. In a moment of silence for the day without a sentence, I see you. If you're tempted to ask what it means. It means what it means. I forgive my arrogance for thinking what I have written is easily digestible. I also give myself grace for doubting the confidence in the judgment of my competence, and fearfully labeling it arrogance. This is an opportunity to witness the impeccable timing of an imperfect being knowing judgment and learning acceptance. Skills that are highly valued by the director and the author. Time and Nature.

As an active participant in the play titled life. I noticed a few things we subject ourselves to. One is drowning our voice in the latest convenience. On the other hand, if we decided not to unjustly silence ourselves. When we do not ignorantly demonize the unknown unknowns. The ones that set us ablaze, and whose ashes stretch our veins and arteries past their holding capacity. The ones that rob us of the satisfaction that comes from acting. When we do not vengefully withdraw on the promises owed to us. When we can smile at the paradoxical nature of pleasure when it preaches to remain objective. When we can question our logic about the great lengths it took to guarantee the absence of consequence itself, we liberate the curious spirit. When you stop trying to be, you feel everything there is in nothing. You hear the silence of listening and hear reason in eyes. When you finally are, you get to experience all that we are, have been, and could be. To my fellow humans, I feel you.

Inside, what is quiet there is noise. Inside, what is silent there is sound. There are people who can say more to you in minutes without uttering a single word. That is what Tunechi meant when he said, “close your mouth and let your eyes listen” in ‘6 Foot 7 Foot. The entire concept of communication has more to offer us and does not have “social” as its root. However, know that the gathering of people whether they are related by blood or not, has been and will continue to be the invitation to the divine. Through someone else’s feelings on the human experience, you will know, hopefully, which of your conscious or unconscious behaviors can reveal where your individual respective values are connected or can connect. It is a pleasant surprise when you begin to embody the things words cannot and may not ever accurately convey. If you aren’t there yet, you can and you will. This is where I leave you and as always, I hear you.
