  The inner world of images

Through an anthropomorphic perspective, the film transforms people's main emotional feelings into five mental elves: Happy, Sad, Disgusted, Angry, and Scared.

Their reactions directly represent the feelings of the main character (Riley) and the operation of her mind in relation to them.

This is a wonderful part of the film's setup, the activities of our inner world, presented in such a graphic and vivid way. Including the various memory balls, personality islands, thought trains, dreams, dreamland, subconscious, etc. mentioned inside.

  2

Embrace negative emotions and open up the colorfulness of life

The main theme of the film is actually to bring us to reacquaint ourselves with various emotions, especially the negative part, which may not make us feel so good at first. In fact, the so-called positive and negative are also labels given by adults.

However, when we start to face it, open it, express it and release it, we will find that there is a love behind everything. We also truly appreciate the variety and flavors of life, and our inner being is further expanded and expanded. This is probably the process of growing up, the process of growing up.

When we are still very young children, we feel more pure and simple joy. As in the film, before the move, most of Riley's life memories are of happy colors, that is, the color of Happy. Riley's feelings and emotions are also dominated by Happy.

After the move, the change of environment, the change of family atmosphere (the accident of moving van, the busy work of dad, the discontent of mom), the change of school life ...... everything is in the process of adaptation and adjustment. Riley felt the discomfort, felt the pressure.

For negative emotions, bad feelings, generally speaking children are naturally expressed directly, but Riley repressed. From one episode of the film, the family just arrived at the new home, there were some accidents, before going to bed mom came to say good night, saying thank you Riley always so sunny ...... from which in fact see, children can easily absorb the expectations of parents, Riley also hope to meet the expectations of mom, hope that they remain sunny and happy in such a situation.

So, there is the film, Lele treats worry like attitude. Riley wants everything to remain in a happy tone, and all sorts of things to prevent worry from touching everything in the console. But worry is very out of control, and finally led to Lele and worry both left the console, opening the journey back to the console.

The journey of two episodes, so that Lele finally let go of the prejudice and impediment to worry:.

One was a chance encounter with Riley's fantasy partner, Popsicle. Popsicle's rocket car was thrown down the memory landfill, and Popsicle cried sadly. Riley tried to comfort him, but it was ineffective. Sadness went over and sat with Popsicle for a while, and then Popsicle got better.

On the other hand, Lele and Popsicle fell down the memory landfill together. Roxy was extremely sad and seemed to be in a desperate situation, sadly looking at the core memory ball, but unexpectedly saw that before the joyful moment, it was Sadness who was there. Riley was sad because she missed a ball and sat on a branch, then her mom and dad came over to comfort her and keep her company, and then only then did her teammates celebrate.

That's when Riley realized how important Sadness was. After rejuvenating, thought of a way to go back. Only the popsicle can not go back, as a child fantasy playmate, with the growth of the end was forgotten, right.

So, there was finally, Riley suddenly woke up from the thought of leaving home, it seems that all the feelings came back. She ran home, rushed to her mom and dad, told their discomfort, stress, sadness ...... family embraced together, tears overflowing with happiness and emotion.

Finally, the mind's console expanded, the personality island expanded, the colors of the memory ball became colorfully intertwined, and life took on more layers and flavors.

  3

The collapse and reconstruction of the personality island

This process is just like the growth process of a child's heart, something is broken and then rebuilt after self-integration.

The difference with the film is, what will be the result of the reconstruction in the end? In the film, Riley eventually gained the understanding and love of her parents, so she quickly rebuilt and had a stronger inner being. In real life, on the other hand, this is not necessarily the case.

Often times, children do not have the understanding and love of their parents when they are going through their own internal struggles. So, the child stops revealing his or her heart to the parents. The collapse of something on the inside, some of which may never be rebuilt again, creates some kind of deficiency.

  4

  The subconscious clown

The film mentions that Riley's greatest fears are thrown into the large warehouse of the subconscious. This clown is also something that Riley is afraid of.

When it was just woken up, so huge body, blood red lips, began to chase Lele Worry. Probably really quite scary.

But is it really that scary to have something that you were once so afraid of as a child? When the clown starts to walk out, you really see its face, it turns out to be just a clown.

Only, our imagination will endlessly amplify our fears, but forget that we ourselves, now has long been a very small model.

  5

  Look at your inner world

Finally, through the presentation of the film, we can also observe the inner world of ourselves.

As in the film, there are also shots put into the minds of Riley's mom and dad those elves. Even everyone is eating, but the mind is immersed in another world. There is also the end to see, the original everyone's mind has so many voices, so many emotional feelings.
