Social Media for modern lovers in the digital age.
The Call.
I am a writer and an editor and I wear a variety of " hats" because my head is way small. True. Ok ok ok I AM talented. Sit down already. I am a pro musician and pianist. Too much to handle? Imagine what my parents thought. Some 50 years later on the other side of midnight with my own birthplace severely suffering, I still want to do it all. I still wish to go where Angels fear to Tread. Why? Don't ask me. I have no idea.

Facebook Suffers Global Outage
A faulty configuration change was said to be at fault for the world's largest social media platform going down for nearly six hours on Monday. Round the globe, the company's 3.5 billion users were unable to access apps and services which included Wattsapp and Instagram. This left them with no way of being able to contact friends and family who may have been living in different countries round the world, making them feel more isolated at a time when we have all been being encouraged to have as little social contact with other people, to prevent the spread of the Covid 19 virus.

Social Media: A Potential Drug?
Following a Wall Street Journal report, Antigone Davis, global head of safety for Facebook, which owns Instagram, was brought before the Senate Commerce Committee to address questions about safeguarding minors online and the psychological damage that teenagers may be exposed to on the network. Following scrutiny from US lawmakers and other organizations about how it may damage adolescent girls and their mental health, Facebook has decided to halt plans to introduce Instagram Kids, a version of the app for youngsters aged 13 and younger.

The Black and White Issue
Social media is getting out of control with these black and white relationship celebration memes. I get it. Love who you love, but don’t look down on those of us who prefer to love our own. Representation matters, but some of these memes are ridiculous and give off the wrong impression of what you feel about your own kind. It does not make me racist when I say that I will not let anything but a black man inside of me, just like it doesn’t make you any less racist when you prefer a race other than your own. You can like the person and still not like the race, babes. Frankly, I’m tired of seeing it, so I have some things I need to get off my chest.

Five Funny Facebook Friends
Comedy At The Stand in Newcastle Well, actually it’s six but fancied a fairly alliterative title. These are all comedians I have seen at the Stand in Newcastle (and other places) and to be quite honest, I enjoy watching them a lot more than most of the people you see on television, but maybe it's because they actually talk to me. I am just gonna say a little about them and where I first saw them.

Drugs, Tarot, Spirit Rods, and Insanity
So there I was people. Searching for information for an article related to the history of tarot for an article for you. So I go to one of my fave search engines . . . Youtube. Only to see a tarot reader who was live. I, of course, decided to watch because I have not seen many going live on Youtube.

Bike Safety: Common Sense? Or Tyranny?
Now, I've had a lot of weird interactions on social media over the years. I often stick my nose in where I shouldn't and interject myself into conversations unnecessarily. I did it again the other day and have been left baffled by what happened.

I don't use Tiktok, Instagram, and Facebook. Do I feel happier?
I think the video call feature on Instagram is strange. Because, why? Why on earth? Why is there a video call... On Instagram...? Where we already have Whatsapp or Telegram? This perplexed me since I'm not on Instagram. I just knew it a few weeks ago when my partner got a video call from his friend through Instagram. Turns out it's already available from 2020 (correct me if I'm wrong). Puzzled by my cluelessness, my partner wondered, "How could you don't know this?" "Well, do you remember? I'm not using Instagram anymore!"
