All you need is Love, and Love is all you need.
You Don't Get to Decide What Other People Should Find Attractive
Have you ever met a couple and thought, "What is she doing with a guy like him?" (Or vice versa?) I think most of us have probably seen two people together and for whatever reason, they seem "off" in some way. Maybe she's much older than him. Maybe they are from different cultures. Maybe one of them is a surfer dude and the other is a bookworm. Maybe one of them is clearly athletic and the other is a couch potato.

Life has repeated in cycles that are hard to deny
Circumstances have brought undeniable heartache and sadness. Life has repeated in cycles that are hard to deny our accountability in it. There have been so many years of rejection after we gave so much love and attention to others. It would appear looking back with the blatantly obvious evidence that we gave our power away. We trusted perhaps in the wrong people, but that is part of our character that is beautiful.

Love will always find its way back to you
Love is love. It makes you lose control and see things in euphoric ways. It grabs your heart and takes you prisoner. It doesn’t see age and time stands still. It looks past culture, it looks past color, and it soothes your soul.

The Remarkable Mr Nakayama
Dear Eloise, I am writing from my brother’s house, and this time away has given me clarity. I’m not oblivious to how we became such strangers to one another, and it would be ignorant of me to say it was your affair. I’ll not dwell on the unimportant - because lies are just lies, and our marriage was falling apart long before that.

I choose you
It’s as simple as the words themselves: I choose you. I choose you in your best light, when you’re smiling and full of joy. I choose you when you’re spontaneous and want to get away for the weekend with no plans or place to go. I choose you when your conversations are bountiful and you can’t wait to share them with me. I choose you when your arms are open wide to give me tight hugs that only you can give. I choose you when you roll over at night and pull me close to you. I choose you when you’re listening to music that makes you feel alive and you radiate that energy that draws me in to dance. I choose you when you’re not with me but I wake up to a “good morning beautiful” text. I choose you when I am having a bad day and stumble upon a handwritten note that says, “I love you baby,” and my day suddenly gets better. I choose you when I walk into a room and you fall in love with me all over again. I choose you because you are a rare treasure to me and your love makes me feel like a millionaire.

Within These Pages
Dear Aleta, Happy Birthday! As you complete your twenty-fourth run around the sun, I offer my fondest wishes for your bright future. My love for you has been compounded by the love you’ve given me in return. Yes, as they say, love is boundless and it seems to grow as you give and receive it.

An Inherent Softness
There is nothing beautiful here, not in the infinity that exists between the moments of opening one’s eyes and being fully awake. It is all awkward twitches, adjustments of blankets, measured breaths so as to not wake up the sleeping form on the other half of the bed, only to realize they haven’t been here in days (weeks?) and you are holding in air for no one but your own inflated self-worth. Maybe it was an early workday, or the luxury of forgetting this particular type of fresh couple intimacy.

Carry On
I do despise Valentine’s day. No, I don’t hate love. I don’t hate seeing people in love, or being in romantic relationships. But Valentine’s day hosts the majority of issues we see with the condition, the disease rather, that so many people clutch onto like they would a root when dangling off a cliff.
