Top End Angel
There was a barrage of crocodile jokes when I started sharing the news I was moving to Darwin. I didn’t know anything about Darwin, apart from Cyclone Tracy and a vague awareness of the bombing of Darwin by the Japanese. I knew it was the capital of the Northern Territory, and that it was our smallest capital city, smaller by half than my hometown of Wollongong. I also knew I wouldn’t be encountering crocodiles roaming the streets of suburban Darwin, any more than I met kangaroos bounding free, left, right and centre in the suburbs of Sydney and Wollongong. I also knew Darwin was a hot place.

Grown up Stuff
Madison turned in along a dirt road off the interstate, skidding on the lose surface. As she motored towards the old barn, she saw Chris’ car and her stomach tightened. Propelled by the adrenaline rush to drive right up to the decrepit abandoned building, parked in a whirl of dust and exited the Camry without bothering to kill the engine or shut the door.

If a Difference of Age Disturbs Your Relationship
This newer century has not been any kinder than previous ones in terms of the bias towards women in unions involving a significant difference of age between the partners. It was never a piece of chocolate cake; some even call it a slice of cheese cake. For some foolish reason, people tend to eye a couple where the woman is older than the man with mockery and reproachfulness. It is still held in numerous little minds that both partners in a relationship should possess the same age or a slight difference of a few years. Women are expected to be younger than the men they live with or marry, and if this clause is not respected, the women in question suffer from their society’s hypocrisy, and often, from the weakness of their companions. The solution to this ancient problem is mathematical: the Law of Averages. However, its effectiveness resides only in the minds of the couples involved. Society’s beliefs are so difficult to alter that a solution seems almost impossible.

The Old Barn
Once upon a time in a land that was painted by the golden sun was a town. There was something magical about this place, it was unlike any other town in the entire world. Lightsdream Village, a name chosen after an explorer that aspired to change the world: his name was Hugh Lightsdream. As its history goes, Hugh was a true nomad with roots of the unknown. Born as an orphan Hugh never felt a rooted connection to any specific place, instead he created his soul from the bits and pieces of places and people he'd come across that felt familiar. The journey to find his roots allowed him to teach all kinds of people The Art of Alchemy, and brought him to destinations like the peak of Mt. Rainier, to the sandy beaches of an island in the Pacific Ocean called Guam. This was where Hugh discovered the most important lesson of what it means to be an explorer.
