The Trout and the Swan
In the light of the moon a beautiful swan danced on the surface of the lake. Underneath, a trout was following her movements, and dancing with her in the waters below. When the dance was done, the swan thanked the trout for her wonderful evening.

When Commitment Culture is Cancelled There are 5 Reasons to Ensure You Love the One You Choose
What do we do when we fall in love? Women revert to eating carbs the author of Men Chase and Women Choose says. A flight or fight response. This might be one of the only bits of information that I can find where a source is uncited. However, as a woman today who is baying off the love of a romantic courtship and suitor from a long distance I keep telling myself that this does not have to be the case, we can be a friendship that is platonic in nature if compatibility isn't the nature of the case. So what has been happening? Call it placebo, or what have you but I constantly dream and think of Pasta Carbonara, Anything cheesy and with a hundred individual stranded carbs and I am in thoughtful heaven. At another time I'd like to divulge the other parts of this strategem when the timing and certainty is better odds or at least resolved in the heart. That is where I intend to be in love and resolved in the heart.

Growing Pains and Unlocked Chains
Where do I see myself in five years? Wherever the sun meets the sky, and the glimmering mirage of a future with you remains poised on the horizon. Surely, a figment of my imagination. It has to be a figment of my imagination. Yet, I watch as my aching knees and weary feet take one dust-laden step to the next in pursuit of your love. After all this time, the pain still comes easy. The rib-crushing, gut-wrenching, wind-knocked-out-of-you feeling that comes when hope escapes and all that’s left is the empty balloon shape of a 27-year-old woman desperate to not grow up. Desperate to not move on.

A Meeting with Peace
The woman, gracefully aged with a touch of silver streaking through her auburn hair, rose from sifting through patterns of toddler dresses to answer the door. She had been jotting seamstress notes in her faithful little black moleskin-lined notebook. The handy 4"x6" journal had become her favorite place to list dreams and goals of her new grandmother life. In remembrance, she etched the inherited name “Gram” on the cover. Her Gram had taken the time to teach her to sow, bake, dream, and curse - appropriately. This new Gram would do the same, now, in hopes of making life right on the tail end of her parenting years.

Blue Heron
As the suns warmth beamed through the window I awakened from another nights rest. Squinted my eyes and my five senses alerted me to another beautiful bright spring day. My tummy grumbling as I mumbled; "Good morning mom." She cheerfully asked, " Would you like a bowl of fruit?" I said "Sure!" Walked into living room to sit on the couch and start watching the Price is Right, as it was usually on every morning. Shortly, after I got comfortable she brought in the spring colored fruit which perked me up. I picked the fruit up with my fingers and ate it piece by piece. My ears heighten as I heard a hiss. "Mom" I cried out. Turning my interested from the television to the bowl of fruit I am frighten and do not know what to do. A snake is coiled in the bowl and heads popping out. I handed the bowl to my mom and she handled the snake from there. I thought later what a cruel joke the snake seemed so life like. It just happened so fast I had little time to think about it at the time. I went along with the day playing and doing my usual activities.

Stranger Than Fiction
In an unsuspecting Tinder match, a twenty five year old gawky gamer guy approaches a twenty seven year old young professional woman. This connection, existing sparsely through the past two years, has filled me with disappointment. I wrote about these times as a reminder to myself of all of the turmoil he has put me through and that I have put myself through.

Past Tense
Christmas music played softly in the background as I scrolled through my phone. As I swiped away from a 10 second video, I suddenly thought of you. I look towards my doorframe to hopefully see you pass through and smile at me. Wanting to see you and hear you again.

The Parting Pages for Little Lady
I watched in expectancy and sure heartbreak as he sat at the foot of my bed writing smoothly on the sorry pages of my little black book. The book was filled with cryptic farewells and empty apologies and he, so sadly, was now adding to my disaster of a collection. I continued to pretend to be asleep and tried to focus my watering eyes on his back faced so permanently toward me.
