The Owl and the Pussycat
He is a night owl and takes some heat for that when his habits conflict with the lifestyle of who he spends time with. The house was plain on the outside but nice inside with huge arched doorways to the multiple adjoining rooms. It had a large river-rock fireplace that was where he felt the best magic with those he lured back to his lair. The master bedroom was the piece de resistance with a circular bed, and befitting the true bachelor that he was, it had it's own fireplace and sound system built into the walls. and balcony overlooking the barn.

Wandering Light
Small flickering flames light the path before her, just enough that she can see the next few steps. Her footfalls crunch into the autumn leaves, a noise that often brings her a sense of comfort-for the season of the harvest is her most favorite, where the spirits come to play within the realm of the physical world.

A Good Soul
It was hard for the Owl King, looking out over a world so filled with humans he could barely stand it. He had to sit there and watch them make a mess of the world. Such a mess there had never been when the Owl's had ruled here. That of course, had been a long time ago.

From The Peanut Gallery
A palpable hush settled over the audience as the set was swept between acts. Most of the students in the gym, including those who had already or had yet to perform, crowded the stage with looks of anticipation, camera-phones at the ready. Most of the parents sat back in their seats with resigned, annoyed and occasionally outright jealous expressions – but they set their phone cameras to record as well. A large majority of the audience was comprised of none of these common species; a much rarer bird had descended by the flock. But then, every talent scout east of the Mississippi came to Dearborn when Carly Schweinger decided to dance.

Robin Hood Ch. 2
Robin Hood Chapter 2 Sherwood Marian stood at the base of Sherwood Security, a massive glass edifice in the heart of Manhattan. She wasn’t sure if it was genuine awe or jet lag but she couldn’t help being a little impressed at the hundred story dick John King built. Probably wanted to outdo Trump tower, She thought.

Living in Daddy's Closet
Chapter 1 Sometimes, I wonder if there are people who do try to be happy. Both my parents made decisions in their lives, which led to so much unhappiness, but I suppose it was all unintentional. These decisions were made to cover up real feelings, secret desires, and to maintain the facades the society wants to give us.

My Feathered Teachers
The smell of bacon and grits filled the three bedroom wooden house that seemed to buckle at its seams. Myself, Betsy, Jenny, Matthew, Beth, Mark and Dottie all split up between two rooms. Mama and a man who we only knew by the name of Joe and came around a few nights each week had the third bedroom, which was always, from as long fas I can remember, off limits to us kids. Smelling bacon usually meant there was a celebration of some kind. With seven of us it was hard to keep track of birthdays and such, and well, if you omitted to tell someone your big day was coming up, it likely wasn’t getting celebrated. So knowing none of my brothers or sisters had a birthday today, on March 18,1975, I struggled to wake fully, thinking surely the smell of bacon still lingered from a dream. But no, it was bacon.

A Visitor on Christmas Eve
The air was thin and stale in the cabin. Dust motes hung in the skinny moonbeams that fell through the slats of the shutters drawn tight over the windows. A faint hiss from the radiator echoed throughout the room, and the soft quiver of a candle’s flame made subtle shadows prance about the walls.

Robin Hood
Chapter 1 Lieutenant Maid Sharp measured steps echoed throughout the hall as secretaries, lawyers, MP’s, and anyone else with an excuse to be there bustled back and forth past her. All of those shapes rushing by, paying her no mind. Her ears were filled with the sounds of conversations about misconduct, the sounds of papers being shuffled and the ancient ceiling fan trying to cool down the giant sweaty hotbox of a courthouse. As she sat there in her hot uncomfortable uniform in an even more uncomfortable brown metal chair, staring intensely at the wall in front of her, anxiously pushing back her cuticles she found herself thinking, This is it, your career’s over. You goddamn idiot. They’re gonna fucking crucify you. Three tours in Shah-i-kot, on the fast track to Colonel, what the fuck Mari. All you had to do was look the other way one god damn time. As she found herself going to that place, she tried to push those thoughts aside. Snap out of it. You’ll be fine. You didn’t do anything wrong.
