The letters LGBTQ are just another way of saying that Love is Love.
The Full Spectrum: Sexuality, Gender & Relationships
I’m back on the dating apps and I’m getting the question, “What does polyamory mean?” Or, “Are you gay?” So, it seems there is still a need for articles such as this that break down the shades of sexuality, relationship structures, and gender. When we are young many of us were taught in binary terms. Black or white. Male or female. Straight or not. Binary is computer coding and cannot adequately explain the complexity of life.

The Humbling Giant
Ava desperately wanted to blame clumsiness on her current predicament. After “tripping” in her study partner’s dorm, she was on a lunch date to retrieve an artifact lost in the excitement. Of course, Xian could have dropped the watch at her dorm, but Ava saw this as an opportunity to clear any confusion. There were already rumors circulating about the young women’s friendship, but that didn’t seem to bother either young woman. That was until last night.

Merlot with Maggie
Hiii mia.z8459! It’s cliché but trust me - be your authentic self. If he can’t appreciate you for the QUEEN that you are, there are plenty more where that came from. In the meantime, grab a glass of wine (you know it’s Merlot for me!) and sit down, girl - we need to talk about yesterday’s Twitter beef…

First Night Out
I first met him at Columbus Circle, directly under the looming glare of Trump Hotel. It was Saturday morning and I sipped a coffee aimlessly. Disgustingly bitter, which was fitting. I felt bitter. A couple walking by laughed in French, maybe Italian. Their joy radiated and tied my stomach into knots. As I hopped off the curb to cross the street into Central Park hoping to disappear for a while a cyclist shouted. “WATCH OUT!”. My dark roast tumbled onto the pavement. In a city of millions I was self absorbed to the point of solitude, I didn’t see him coming. He swerved right to avoid me and came to a screeching halt. Too stunned to apologize, I just stared. His eyes were Forest Green and he stared right back. “Would have been a shame to run over such a good looking face” he said. Something was furiously working in my mind, like a nearly finished crossword. Before I could figure it out he spoke again. “Sorry about your coffee, can I take you out and buy you a proper drink?”. Seven across. The clue; “Certain”. Four letters. “Sure” I mouthed, the word slowly stumbling out my mouth. He squinted, unable to hear my whisper. “Yes, I’m free for dinner”. I said it clearly but I was spectating myself from a distance. What was I doing?

Wine And Peaches
I nervously sipped my wine while my fingers rapped a discordant beat on the tablecloth. I hadn’t been this edgy about a date since I was a teenager. But then my dates for the last decade had been basically the same, meet at the restaurant, share small talk, say you’re doing to do it again sometime, and leave. There’d been a few second dates and even a couple of third dates. But mostly I’d been too busy with work to spend much time on relationships. I had great friends and a job that I loved. That was enough for me.
