The Lady Killer. Top Story - May 2021.
From experience, I can tell you: conceit is a demon. After four years of promiscuity and success in the military, I created this grandiose image of myself. I was dubbed the “Lady Killer” from friends and peers. Never intimidated by women, I often led them from a bar to my place with ease. Comically enough, this confidence would hold no bearing when I pulled the wrong move at the wrong time, leaving me too embarrassed to speak.

Honey, will you till me a garden?
I just wanted my garden tilled. This is not a euphemism. Its not even an elaborate task – I just wanted the small square of ground that I had identified weeks prior, to be broken up so that I could begin establishing my little corner of happiness. Sure, there were other tasks to be accomplished to make my garden whole – but this was the first step.

What would Love smell like?
It is the smell that hits you first. It penetrates the air, making it thicker and fuller. The fragrance is sweet, as though blood has been drawn. But this rich smell isn’t blood, it is sweat. The odor of Human sweat when it is dripping in fear. Our scent is our calling to all other animals. Right now, I am the Lion and although I do not eat my victims; they satisfy my appetite. My dinner this evening exhaust himself with pleas of a different fate. I make no mistake in thinking I am God. However I am aware, believer or not; I am one of His messengers. So my fate is as set as this Gentleman.

Doing Stand Up Comedy In Salem, Oregon
I’ve been doing stand up comedy for the past six years. I’m originally from the Seattle area, but I have been living in Japan since 2003. There is a comedy group in the city of Nagoya, Japan where I live that does shows once a month. This was pre-Covid 19 of course, but even still we were able to put on a few shows in 2020 and have done a few in 2021.

The Killer
The hairs stood up on the back of my neck, I had just turned on Solid Gold radio and Matt Monro was singing ‘Walk Away’, it was a song that had always conjured up strong images for me every time I heard it, memories of Sunday and ‘Two Way Family Favourites playing on the transistor radio which sat on the windowsill of our kitchen, I sat back and could actually smell the roast beef and hear the vegetables simmering on the gas stove, I could see my sister sat there, her arm in plaster and all the messages written on the cast, and I remembered the Killer.

No Regrets
I was ready for the business world after I graduated high school, to move into the work field, spread my wings and fly successfully toward adulthood. I had a fresh young mind with a new outlook and was ready to change the world. I strategically designed an eye catching resume that I knew would land me a job.
