humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
Legendary Short Stories: Vermont Dairy, Inc. - Lessons learned about life and beyond...
Vermont Dairy Inc. - Lessons learned about life and beyond... Today, one of my home hospital nurses was here checking on me and changing my foot bandages. I got these injuries to my feet as a result of being kicked out of the home I shared with my mother. She was convinced that I was a bad man and that she was afraid of me. Well, I am not a bad man and I am nobody to be feared. If you knew me personally you would know this for youself. As my mother has dementia, she tends to gain a mindset whereby she believes things that are not true. As a strong-willed person, once her mind is set on something, there is no changing her mind on things and thus, when she directed the Sheriff Deputy to remove me from her home, and it is her home, I became homeless for the first time in my life.

Stepping Outside of Privilege
Imagine growing up in a world where you have power and privilege just because you were born a certain race. You are comfortable, the world is generally accommodating to your wants and needs, and most of the obstacles you encounter usually have nothing to do with the color of your skin. Now imagine stepping out of your comfortable position to speak up for people who don't look like you, live where you live, experience life how you experience it, or share your history. Why bother putting your neck on the line when life is generally comfortable for you? Why risk being ridiculed by people of your own race for standing up for another race? What motivates you to put your energy into something that is so outside of yourself, and seemingly has nothing to do with you continuing to live your privileged life?

Where is the love?
What is love? Love is patience, caring and kind. God is love. Love covers a multitude of sins. Love is felt when it’s genuine. You can always feel in your heart when the love a person gives is coming from the heart. People always say they love, but their actions speaks otherwise. I have been taught that what you feel in your heart is what you speak out of your mouth. Sometimes people lie about love.

Does the world need to change?
Before, I begin speaking about the world I want to just give us a brief moment to remember the lives taken without real justice, people of colour have been persecuted for many years, centuries even but for what reason? Why do people still believe there is a difference between us, when in actuality there isn't. We are all the same, we're humans and we all deserve the same respect, so how come it's lacking for people of colour, people of certain religions, people that identify themselves differently or those people who are homosexuals?

Why Do People Hate Each Other?
I thought about this question as somebody had asked me why we hate each other, and I had paused and tried to think of an answer but caught myself dumbfounded. It's like a koan used by a Zen master to his monks, and you couldn't grapple the answer. My mind went blank, and it made me quiet before I even formulated a response. It is easy to react to this question rather than someone asked you why do we love each other?
