For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
Life, Love & Other Lessons Learned
Chapter 1 Trust is a special thing. As delicate as the petal of a rose, when you give it to someone, you ultimately are hoping that they will treat it with as much care and respect, in that by giving them your trust, you are giving them a special gift of yourself. In ideal circumstances that gift is treated as a precious, valued item and treated with the utmost of care. On the other hand, there are times when you find yourself placing such trust in a person(s) and in the end, you find yourself wishing you never had. It is this lesson that would ultimately be the realization for a young woman but to begin, the broader picture would need to be considered. For her, this would be a lesson that would formulate the manner in which she would look at future events in her life but, in the hopes of not getting too far ahead, it would be best to begin, as they say, at the beginning.

Life, Love & Other Lessons Learned
Chapter 2: The Road Begins It was just another day, or at least it seemed like that in Katya’s mind. As she was nearing her late teens and getting ready to move on to college, she was spending a lot of time lately thinking about what she wanted to do with her life. Tall and slender with light brown hair that fell just above her shoulder, Katya was grateful for her slender physique, as it seemed to serve her well, in terms of engaging in her love of running. While others enjoyed competitive sports that involved playing on teams, she loved to run because, with running, it was about you. What you could do to make yourself feel better, or the chance to truly let your mind be free and have a sharper and clearer focus on what may have been troubling you at the time. This last concept was something that Katya found to be true, in that it would have become quite commonplace to have her early morning runs be a time in which she could be quiet with the thoughts that swarmed in her head and the only noise around her would be the rustling of the trees, or the sound of her feet as they hit the pavement.

SENSE OF SOCIAL INSECURITY
I've been a security guard for 12 years. Firefighter for 9 years and a father not long enough. But I realize that every body has to have some sense of security. You have to feel safe in your work environment. You have to feel safe in the public. You have to feel safe in your home to be quarenteend. If your forced to stay months on end with someone who you hate being with. That assults you and belittles you. It could be battling on your physche.

The Smell of Garlic and Sound of Guitar
My home was most inviting when filled with the sound of acoustic guitar and the smell of garlic lofting through the air. Everyone tended to gravitate to the kitchen in the evening. My dear friend Rob would sit on a stool and teach my son Alex something new on the guitar, while my little girl Amybeth would dance around in one of her tutu’s, and I would stir the pot of gravy. I love calling spaghetti sauce gravy. My ex-husband's little Italian spitfire of a grandmother called it gravy so when she taught me to make it “gravy” was like a special code word passed on with a secret recipe. Her secret ingredient was a completely unexpected addition.. After all the meticulously prepared raw fresh ingredients she added a can of original Rotel.
