humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
The Coordinates
The train was empty. Well, partially empty. My old friend Zeke was sitting in the last car, last row, and the seat next to the conductor booth. I didn’t have to be back there, I just knew. He took this ride each and every day. Him and the glass bottle in the paper bag. When I first met Zeke, I had had a rough day. I missed my first train and was stuck at 30th Street for an hour for some sort of electrical outage. He was sitting on the bench under the War Memorials angel. I walked by, grabbed a coffee and the paper, and circled back to sit. Zeke never looked up, took a swig from his bottle, and said, “I have to get home”. “Yeah, me and you both my friend”. I did not even care to look at the time at this point. My buddies were already on the Broad Street Line headed for the park. To me, this was a night in, and after teaching 3 classes today – my only plans were to grab a Yuengling, leftovers from the fridge, and catch the last few innings of the game. I stopped buying season tickets a while ago but catching a game or two after work was a pastime. When I was a kid, my dad took me to every game. We could only get standing room only tickets most of the time, but who cared. As a kid, what difference did it make? I would stand outside with my glove and bat for hours on a Saturday. I only came in for meals and right before the streetlights came on. We all thought we would be ‘Dutch’ one day. Yeah…

Missing You. Top Story - February 2021.
She opened the journal. It had been her mother’s. The black leathery exterior felt soft, almost feathery in her hands - the paper pages aged. Her mother had specifically willed the journal to her; the two had been close, but they had fallen out of contact shortly before her mother had passed.

Dear Diary
Dear Diary, My mom is known for a lot of things but she was never known for keeping a guy man. From a young age I could remember, Frank, Tim, Paul, Larry and the list just goes on. Somehow this new guy wants to stay, he wants to be stepdad. He cooks dinner, cleans the house like who this guy really thinks he is. My mom claims that he does real estate but I am not too sure I could never go off of what my mom says. So I will be investigating Steve some more.

The Death Experience
The one thing we all have in common is the experience of death. None of us can escape its clutches. Animals, plants, people. We all follow the process of being born, following a life cycle, and then die. Why? Well, I wish I had all the answers, but I do not. What I do know is we are all on life's conveyor belt for what seems to be a pre-determined end. Some get close, and "cheat death", others have out of body experiences and come back. Some actually die, and return and go on to live longer lives. No matter how you look at it, we eventually transition from this realm into another.

What you might find in the trash....
Day in and day out, my job was the same thing. Once in a great while, it would be interesting, but not as interesting as this day. I worked for a disposal company as a driver picking up the containers for businesses. Mostly new construction businesses.

I am Kindhearted
My car stopped working about a week ago. With no money to fix it, I’ve been forced to walk. Cutting through the park lately has been some fun. You get a chance to meet some cool people. Today I happened to notice something under the bushes next a tree. I stopped to pick it up. It was a beat up old black book. There were no markings on the front or back, so I flipped through the pages quickly. It looked like it could’ve been someone’s journal. I put it in my bag, and continued my journey home.

Aquarius
Astrology has been in my life it's more of an interest than a path to follow. Although my interest in it probably stems from me being an Aquarius to a tee! It maybe suggestible, I mean, horoscopes, come on! So vague, right! You could probably relate to your daily horoscope if you think outside the box. Thinking outside the box! That's me! Not so much coming up with great new ideas or inventions but more like I don't want to be in the box EVER. If it's a fad I automatically hate it. I may even rebel too much when it comes to the things people do or say. It totally makes sense that Uranus my modern ruling planet spins clockwise, which is not like most other planets I too spin while standing still. I am in the in fact the epitome of a paradox.
