The Pear Tree
The problem with the world today is that people (as a whole) are rewarded and praised for things that they don't need praising for. They also get the same treatment as those who actually do work to obtain their goals. At one point, having a decent work ethic was a common thing and everyone worked for the goals that they had wanted to achieve. However, somewhere along the thing, those who didn't get the same attention as those who earned it, were pitied upon into receiving equal attention.

Morning
I had been so tired lately, so I decided to take a vacation. I had been doing 40-to-60 hour weeks and was caught up with everything and there was nothing else but let it all go and hope for the best. I quickly called Dave and firmly let him know not put me on the schedule. As disappointed as he sounded, he knew I had to go. Holding me to my word of, "yes I'll come back." but I rarely ever did. If he would look at me as he once did before; I would have done anything for a rainy day, but it was not so, not a cloud in the sky. Pure Blue and Sun. To romanticize the "if" of Life simply takes your life.

An opinion to have
All people want to do is talk. They don't really care to hear what you say. They ask you questions but there is no patience for the answer. They sometimes practice faces in front of the mirror to look interested. Their eyebrows go up, maybe they frown down or towards the middle, not too hard. Their lips pucker, an index finger finds its way to the cheek. People love that. They watch in the mirror, knod and grin.

frozen pond
The day had finally come. The long endless night was gone. The small town buried beneath the giant trees, surrounded by monumental mountains, was finally in the light. The sun was upon them. The town was exposed. The icy wind blew suspiciously around the vacant homes and throughout the empty roads, but no one was found. The wind slowly whistled its way to the back of the town, where the mountains gathered, where the wind stopped, where the pond was located. The place where the entire town was gathered.

Bodies of Water
Adam trudged through the remaining distance of the snow-draped field that lead to the pond he had seen more times than he could count. It was frozen over like it always was this time of the year, and it served no purpose to the deer or the hungry wolves like it usually did. For a short time after it froze over, you could still see fish swim below the ice. Deep into the harsh winters, however, you could never. His pants were torn and bloodied, and some of his fingertips protruded through his gloves. He could not feel them, but he could see them. They were dirty, and their fingernails were different lengths. He stopped, slouched, and breathed heavily. A voluminous vapor cloud formed and lingered around his head before it dissipated upward. The air was still. The grass that remained and managed to crest the snow remained in place. He looked to the pond and beyond, because beyond it was his home, and while he would make it to the pond, he would never make it home.
