humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
The Burbs Are a Lonely Place
Joy Behar, a T.V. personality on The View, said she lived in L.A. for two years, and she's never been so lonely in her life. She claimed she had a relationship with Jack at Jack-in-the-Box. I completely understood what she meant, although she didn't elaborate on it.

The Notorious Ward
St. John’s Ward was a festering pool of poverty & disease located in the heart of Toronto in the 19th & 20th centuries. Known simply as The Ward, the area was defined by its border streets: College, Yonge, University & Queen. It housed the city’s poorest: people who had travelled from afar looking for a brighter future, who then did their best to set up housekeeping in Toronto’s worst slum.

What A Hungry Refugee Child In Turkey Taught Me
As I stepped off the beautiful Bosphorus cruise in Istanbul, my hair was beehived with wind and ocean breeze. I walked with a sway in my step; still used to the rocking motion of the boat. The sun was beginning to set in the distance, burning the sky in an extravagant fashion.

How a Hungry Little Girl in Pakistan Changed My Life
Over 5 years ago, I visited the “homeland”; I visited Pakistan. You see, my heritage is Pakistani but I wasn’t born there and I had never lived there either. For me, home was America and going to visit Pakistan for the first time since I was a baby, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I didn’t feel a particular attachment to the country, but I loved it dearly as its culture has shaped who I am today.

Jealousy, Envy and Doubt
You clicked on this article because of two reasons, you are jealous of someone and wish to end those feelings or you are a target of jealousy and want to know how to deal with your situation. I am here to tell you that there is no "help" for this...per se. The only solution to the problem of jealousy, envy and hate is quite frankly, peace.

millennials
Millennials, this decade’s biggest target. I see both sides of the story. I have been watching a number of documentaries on this peculiar generation. Some of the things I have heard and even thought myself are somewhat true and somewhat exaggerated. Sometimes you need to look into the “why” to find out who the real cause is.

Power in Words
There is power in words. I’m sure someone has heard the phrase before, or at least something similar. Despite growing up hearing ‘sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me’ I’ve come to learn this statement is a blatant lie. So it goes to show that a book, made up of thousands or hundreds of thousands of words, holds more power than people assume. Most people make New Year resolutions to sleep better or work out more, or maybe bolster their savings. I signed up for volunteer work.

Caveman Syndrome
When the times were unprecedented and we were trying to figure out the new normal, I felt at home with the new way of working. I didn't have to bother about how to get to the office, sitting in front of bosses for long hours and eating home-cooked meals that were half-frozen by the office air-conditioning. For the antisocial inside me, the pandemic turned out to be a blessing in disguise. So it isn't a wonder that when the restrictions began to lift one by one, I was ill-suited to the world we used to live in. Recently I came to know from a bumble date that this is called caveman syndrome. So when I say I have been living under the rock for most of the pandemic, it is not a figure of speech.
