The Truth About Trichotillomania
Hair. Some say that a woman’s hair is her crown, beautifully crafted to frame the face in such a way that speaks to those around her. Each strand combines with the others to create an exquisitely coiffed masterpiece. Hair is extremely versatile: it can be cut, dyed, curled, straightened, highlighted, and brushed into any number of gorgeous styles that expresses a bit of one’s inner workings. All of this has been stripped from my identity because I have a disorder called trichotillomania. Sometimes a “bad hair day” can affect your emotional state of mind. Last night at Kathryn’s party, we talked about books and movies that make us cry. Kody threw out The Art of Racing in the Rain. “It’s narrated by a dog!” A collective groan. Dog books. Emily mentioned The Goldfinch. “It’s a coming of age story,” Kathryn explained to the rest of the group who had not read the tome. “It’s in my top seven best books ever,” I added. Obsessed Ukrainian mother, unborn child, and cruel world.
My pregnant wife felt a sudden pain on August 17, 2020, at 9:00 p.m. local time, and we rushed to the nearest maternity center. When we arrived, one‘s guard informed us that the lady doctor was not available; we then move to the next hospital, but unfortunately, these were covid 19 peak days, and every hospital was jam-packed with patience, and no one accepted us; she was dying with pain. It was our first baby, and I was scared, as was my other family.
