I Told Her Not to Come
I haven’t always been this upstanding guy. I mean no one is ever born this awesome, you have to work for it. My name is Scott, Scott Wilds -- There’s no name better than that. I’m a senior in high school and I have every girl I have ever met wrapped around my finger. You see I have learned how to keep them, I guess, in love with me. It’s so easy, all you have to do is give them a compliment (with a smile on your face) and focus on them while they talk. Like making eye contact and acting as though you want to hear what they have to say. That’s how you get them to be your follower.

Ending Notes
It's midnight. My fingertips have been itching for a melody and the piano in the den has been begging for attention. The final strokes of the keys beneath my fingers are all but inevitable when a question is posed to me by my, nearly too inquisitive, roommate. Peter.

If these heels could talk...
If these heels could talk, oh the stories they would tell. I’ve always had a sore spot in my heart for retail and it takes back almost twenty years or so ago. Now at the grand age of almost thirty-five, I’ve taken sometime to look back, reflect and attempt to understand why I am sitting in the very chair I am today and what has shaped me into the person I am today. I asked myself the question many times, “is there any one thing that truly enhanced, proliferated, and was the driving force in pushing me forward? What remained constant?” The answer was Retail. The following story that you will read outlines my life, but it’s not an autobiography. It has some added fun exaggerations for your reading pleasure. I mean after all, whose life is really that interesting anyway. My hope in the end is that you, the reader, will be entertained and come away being able to read between the lines of the book and see the side of me I never knew myself existed till after writing these passages... So without further Adieu, this is my story.

The Story I Created Was Worse Than The Truth
His view became narrow and dark as he traveled along rain-streaked streets that night. The flashes of light in passing windows were swift glimpses into the lives of strangers. Riding the bus all night, his thoughts were a confusing jumble and his eyes ached.

Joshua
Prologue: The term “fell through the cracks”, is usually used to describe something that was lost or forgotten. It is used to describe innocuous items or tasks that are missing or were left incomplete. Sometimes, however, something you would think should be far more important falls through the cracks. Like people.

Treasured
Deep in the forest, nestled at the bottom of a cliff next to Rock Lake; is a log cabin. Three stories high, five-bedroom, three bathrooms with a huge rustic red barn outside. Walking into the cabin there is a grand staircase with railing engraved with elk and trees. To the left are a kitchen with a six-burner stove and double oven, with a center island. Straight ahead is the living room, a four-foot-wide fireplace demands the attention in the room. Dark cherry wood frames it and on the mantle, the name “EMTMAN” is carved into it. This is now the place I call home, after my great-grandpa passed away, he left it to my dad Tom.

The Office Christmas Party
It was the week before Christmas, and the entire staff was excited about the company party that weekend. It was a Thursday evening. Some were already gone for the holiday break, others stayed behind to tie up some ends before being gone for about a week. Of course, there was the chatter about the upcoming party. Who would be there? Would they have an open bar? What would the vibe be like during that time? They all knew the location and time, but a few people needed to know specific details about the party.
