Milestones: Part Three and Four
Update: June 2021 So, as you may have guessed, Covid postponed my boyfriend and I’s longer winter adventure. We did have a little 2-night excursion in a nearby town to mark the new year and to escape the Covid city claustrophobia. We are both being cautiously optimistic with what this upcoming year will bring. I don’t think it’ll be a return to normal so much as a revisioning of normalcy.

Update: November 2020 My second semester of university brought a person I can only describe as astounding and even then it barely encompasses his degree of amazing. We first met on a popular dating app, tinder, in August 2018 before I started university. We had great chemistry, but a date didn’t pan out before he met someone else and they began dating. More on that later.

Can negativity be terminated from thoughts? Can someone live a life purely influenced by optimism? There’s always seeing the bright side, and then there’s only seeing the bright side. It’s a life without caution, without a second spared to the thought of consequences. I’ve always found caution to play quite a relevant part in my life, and it’s caused a limited, yet strangely enriching, experience.

Ending Notes
It's midnight. My fingertips have been itching for a melody and the piano in the den has been begging for attention. The final strokes of the keys beneath my fingers are all but inevitable when a question is posed to me by my, nearly too inquisitive, roommate. Peter.
