I started a newsletter. Well, first, I quit my job. Five months later - after and while trying to be an audiobook narrator, an independent college counselor, a digital concierge, and applying for food assistance and many jobs - I had the audacity to start a newsletter.

"Vagina". There, I said it.
What makes art controversial? This is a tough question. Often what demarcates controversial art from non-controversial art is individual perception and subjectivity. When an artwork divides audiences, sparks reactions, and upsets general culture and expectations, it tends to be a controversial piece of art.

More Than Just Paper
I was born into a family of incredibly talented creatives. All of us get a thrill from a blank piece of paper. It is a gateway to anything! It has a life all of its own and it calls to us to bring its powerful magic to life. Not everyone is born with this incredible power.

A Painting In The Cellar
Xavier was based in a village in Germany. He was an unusual mixture. Genetically speaking. A Chinese and German blend from his parents love boat had produced him. He was a highly strung artist who drank vodka like a fish. Hed ditched his German wife who couldn’t cope with his artistic temperament. Once he started drinking he became bad tempered. Lost his cool. Began throwing things at his wife. She took off to a nearby village in the German mountains, but remained very supportive to his art career.

Coloring Outside the Lines.
What Makes an Artist? I received my own artist/author business cards today. Yet I have never finished writing a novel or won a prize for my art. Unless you count the state fair when I was ten. I did win first place for drawing a girl in chalk. What a proud moment…until I found out that I was the only one who entered that area of art for my age group.

You Can't Change The Way People See Your Art
How often do we obsess over the perfect presentation of a creative project? Don't we know that our creative process is...well, a process? And yet we forget it so frequently. We forget in the midst of art critics and fandoms voicing their opinions on whether your art is exactly what you say it is. It's terrifying, isn't it? And dear god, it can hurt. Hearing some opinions is the equivalent of hearing the pages of your story being torn, your canvas being painted over, or any of your creative work being burned by the flames on their tongues. It's an intimidating tragedy. It feels inevitable.

The Art of Emotions.
The Beginning. Several months back, I started working to improve my realistic portraits through taking some online classes and practicing weekly on new face-drawing endeavors. Over the last couple of years I started focusing on faces because my ability to draw people was a zero on a scale of one to ten! Unless you count stick figures. That might have brought me up to a one. Below are sections of each portrait. Continue to my Etsy shop for more information on each.

THERE IS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE
“Everyone has been made for some particular work and the desire for that work has been put in every heart.” Rumi I realised today that I am well equipped to spot new ideas, new concepts, new notions, new strategies or better, to handle them in a realistic way, however, I find that most of the times, some of those new things that I would like to implement are ahead of their time. They are from the future, and I discover that people are not ready for massive changes as I was expecting or hoping that they would want to put into practice to also enjoy its benefits, and together to actually create the world that we love living in. The example in this case consists of me discovering the concept of character strengths belonging to Martin E.P. Seligman and the concept of PERMA for well-being.

My Pictures
The was one of my own creations using my computer. This picture was mainly using the marker icon. I was trying to show how the wind blows through the branches and trying to blend colors. I know that this picture looks like a child drew it, but it is really my own creation and it was my first attempt at doing art on the computer. I was trying to remember some ideas I learned in an Art Fundamentals class that I had taken in my Freshman year in high school. Not bad for a first attempt at 'computer art'.
