A Decade-Long Relationship With Alcohol
--- At the age of 18, Alcohol moved in and demanded that I make space for it. In the beginning, Alcohol insisted on only a few, small changes: swapping the wall art for blurry photos with vacant eyes, replacing all of the jeans with bandage skirts, filling the bookshelves with empty liquor bottles that served as trophies from forgotten nights. In just a couple of months, though, Alcohol went from roommate to constant companion; relentlessly whispering in my ear, reminding me of how much more fun life is when you're in a haze.

Touching Hearts, One At A Time.
For as long as I can remember, I have always been the person that people went up to for advice, for a listening ear, or a shoulder to lean on, but I have now noticed and asked myself, "who has been there to listen to me, and be my shoulder to lean on when I need it?". The answer is, no one. But, being a good friend sometimes means being selfless, putting others before yourself, no matter what you may be going through. Throughout my time, I have lived and learned to manage with different types of people, I have heard many stories (some heartbreaking, some joyous), and I have always been there to listen. It may not sound like a talent or a trait, but not everyone can sit there and not be ready to throw in the towel. The thing I love more than anything in the world is when someone trusts me enough, to confide in me with their deepest, most intimate stories, ask me for my opinion, and being able to provide my input or provide advice that I feel would benefit them. It makes me feel that I matter in this person's life, they value what I have to say, and they thought about me in these moments of need.

Did you Visit an Abbey? THIS Is What your Dream Means...
You may or may not be religious, but I want you to know that this doesn't necessarily bring up any God stuff... in case you were wondering. Or maybe it does, it depend on what this means to you... I don't know why I'm starting to ramble... let's get to the point.

A Letter to a Friend
You’ve been hurt. That much I can see. I see it in your eyes, in the way your shoulders tense, and in the harsh clench of your jaw. I hear it whenever you say things like “It’s nothing,” or “I’m fine.” I feel it when you hug me too tightly, afraid to let go and even more afraid to admit it.

Emotions and Decision Making
Memory and cognition are far more susceptible to external factors than we think. For example, when an airport ticket inspector deliberately dropped something on the floor and bent down to pick it up, leaning over behind the ticket counter, another staff member took over and continued to inspect the ticket, the researcher asked the travelers and most answered that they did not notice the change of ticket inspector. In another study, subjects were asked to count the number of times a player in a white jersey appeared on a videotape, and most were able to say exactly how many times, but only 42 percent of the subjects noticed a more striking image: a person dressed in a black gorilla pattern walking to the center of the screen, beating his chest for a while and then walking away. More than half of the subjects focused only on the task given to them, not noticing a gorilla standing right in front of them! What kind of gorilla is walking by in your field of vision right now that you are blind to?

The most advanced imagination is not free
Einstein said a lot of things in his life, and I don't know when and under what circumstances he said "imagination is more important than knowledge", and as a result, Chinese children's educators remembered it. In Zheng Yuanjie's generation, this statement has evolved into: "Imagination and knowledge are natural enemies. One's imagination disappears in the process of acquiring knowledge. Because knowledge conforms to logic, while imagination has no rules to follow. In other words, the essence of knowledge is science, and the characteristic of imagination is absurdity."

The Anxiety Monster
Your heart beat kicks up and your palms start to sweat, it seems like all the cells in your body are made of lightening, pulling you in many different directions all at once. Your brain races and you fidget, flicking your nails, tapping your foot and biting your lip with a nervous concentration. Nothing at all has prompted this, but something had suddenly made you very anxious. Something that people would normally perceive as normal; an off-hand comment, a school presentation, graphic images in a movie, or any combination of things. This could be a minor case of anxiety spiked, or this could be a full blown panic attack.

Blue diamonds
When you live the same reality over and over again, you believe it is the real deal. Then you slowly observe others experience different realities than yours. Comparing yourself to others, you start to doubt yourself. You think that based on others’ standards, you are not good enough, you are not ahead of the crowd enough, there is nothing that could make you content about yourself and the life you live.
