Superhero

Whoever helps the weak and stops injustice is a superhero.

Have you ever seen a superhero? As soon as this question is asked, many names come to mind. Heroes wearing colorful costumes, masks on their faces, flying through the air, fighting villains with special powers. We have all seen such superheroes in movies and cartoons. But have you ever seen a real superhero in real life? Most people would say no.

But I have seen a real superhero.

It happened during our summer vacations. Our homework was already finished, and we had nothing special to do all day. One habit we always followed was keeping some grain and water on the ledges of our house for birds. Almost every day, some bird would come to drink water or peck at the grains, and we enjoyed watching them quietly.

One afternoon, just like any other day, a pigeon was drinking water from the bowl. After a while, a small sparrow came and sat nearby. As soon as the pigeon noticed the sparrow, it flew a little distance away and began making soft sounds, as if saying, “I have finished drinking, now it’s your turn.” The sparrow chirped gently, almost like saying thank you, and dipped its beak into the water.

But suddenly, a crow arrived.

Crows are clever but often mischievous birds. This crow spread its wings aggressively and scared the sparrow away. The poor sparrow flew to a distant corner and sat there helplessly. This did not happen just once. Every time the sparrow tried to come near the water, the crow would chase it away. Finally, the sparrow sat far away, chirping sadly. What could it do? The crow was stronger, and the sparrow was weak. This seems to be a rule of the world: the strong often try to suppress the weak.

In movies and dramas, what happens at such moments? A superhero appears from nowhere to help the weak and stop injustice. And just like those stories, our superhero was also watching everything closely. He understood that this was the moment to help.

Our superhero was not wearing a mask or a costume. He was not flying in the sky like in movies. He was just an ordinary pigeon—but with courage.

The pigeon flew back to the ledge and moved closer to the crow, making loud sounds. The crow, annoyed, flapped its wings to scare the pigeon away as well. The pigeon was not as strong as the crow, but it was brave. It dodged the crow’s attack, stood its ground, and did not give up. After a brief struggle, the crow realized that this was not an easy target. Finally, the crow flew away.

Peace returned to the ledge.

The pigeon calmly flew back and sat there again. After a few moments, the sparrow returned, chirping happily. This time, no one stopped it. It drank water peacefully and pecked at the grains. Watching this scene filled my heart with joy. The weak had been protected, and injustice had been stopped.

At that moment, I realized something important. A superhero does not need special powers, fancy clothes, or a dramatic entrance. A real superhero is someone who stands up for others, even when they are not the strongest. Courage, kindness, and a sense of justice are the true superpowers.

In our daily lives, we often look for heroes in stories and screens, but real heroes are around us all the time. They may be a person who speaks up for someone being treated unfairly, someone who helps a stranger in trouble, or someone who protects those who cannot protect themselves. Even a small act of bravery can make someone a superhero.

So friends, remember this lesson: anyone who helps the weak and stops wrongdoing is a real superhero. Masks and costumes are not necessary. What truly matters is having the courage to do what is right.
