Restoring Connection: How a Georgia Educator Turned Marriage Coach Is Strengthening Relationships Through Faith and Communication
Trinette L. Collier launched TLC Coaching after retirement, building a community-centered model to help couples grow through healing, clarity, and intentional love.

SMYRNA, GA — After two decades in education, Trinette L. Collier could have chosen rest. Instead, she chose restoration — for herself, and for the couples now at the heart of her work as a marriage communication coach.
“I realized that love doesn’t heal without intention,” Collier said. “And communication isn’t optional — it’s the lifeline.”
Now known as “Coach TaShon,” Collier is the founder of TLC Coaching, a faith-based initiative helping couples across metro Atlanta and beyond build stronger marriages through coaching, vision-based workshops, and healing-centered events. From monthly TLC Fireside Chats in Norcross to her upcoming TLC UnWind Couples Cruise, every event centers on emotional wellness and spiritual growth.
From Educator to Empathy-Driven Entrepreneur
Collier’s shift into coaching wasn’t just a professional move — it was a personal mission. After navigating her own divorce, healing journey, and eventual remarriage, she felt called to help others do the same.
“In the classroom, I poured into students. Now I pour into marriages — and the heart behind it hasn’t changed.”
TLC Coaching was born not from theory, but from lived experience. Drawing on her background in education and her training as a marriage communication coach, Collier creates what she calls “safe spaces for growth.” Her core audience? Couples married 7 years or more, who are often navigating the complex middle years of marriage where vision and communication can get blurry.
Community Events with Lasting Impact
TLC Coaching’s offerings are both local and national. In-person events like the TLC Fireside Chat on April 19 in Norcross, GA, offer couples a safe, faith-rooted space to reconnect. Monthly DreamBoard workshops (offered in-person and virtually) help couples visualize and clarify their shared goals, including a signature April 26 session co-hosted by P & D Entertainment.
The long-term vision? A holistic movement that integrates faith, relationship health, and legacy-building.
“When we heal our homes,” Collier said, “we strengthen our communities.”
She’s also preparing for her TLC UnWind Couples Cruise, a retreat sailing from Miami to the Bahamas in February 2026, designed to help couples unplug, renew their connection, and pour into each other without distractions.
A Mission Backed by Service
Beyond relationship coaching, Collier leads TLC’s Selfless Servings, a nonprofit that provides meals, resources, and emotional support to educators, families, and those in need. Her work has been recognized locally — including by Smyrna Mayor Derek Norton — and continues to expand through strategic partnerships and faith-based collaborations.

“At TLC, love isn’t just a word,” Collier said. “It’s an action.”
Expanding Impact Through Virtual Reach
While TLC Coaching began in Georgia, its reach has extended far beyond state lines. Through virtual sessions, digital workshops, and online coaching programs, Collier now works with couples across the country. The flexibility of her services has allowed her to support long-distance couples, busy parents, and professionals navigating the balance between personal growth and partnership.
“Technology lets us meet couples where they are—literally and emotionally,” she said. “You don’t need to wait for a crisis to start healing. You just need a place to start.”
Collier also offers free resources through her website and social platforms, helping couples reconnect in practical, everyday ways. From conversation prompts to guided journal reflections, her coaching style focuses on clarity, not complexity.
Why Every Marriage Deserves a Reset
Whether through one-on-one coaching or public workshops, Collier’s message remains the same: every relationship deserves the opportunity to grow, heal, and thrive.
“Healthy love doesn’t happen by accident,” she said. “It’s built with intention, brick by brick, word by word.”
As she looks ahead, Collier hopes to bring TLC Coaching into more cities, churches, and online platforms — and to continue speaking on the power of empathy, faith, and authentic communication in keeping families strong.
