Pakistani Transgender People
Welcome to Pakistan to the transgender community

Welcome to Pakistan to the transgender community in a conservative Muslim country the problem is that if you kill a dog on this side and on the other side you kill a transgender person the transgender person has no value but the dog does sometimes I feel depressed sometimes I feel empowered that yes I am somebody sometimes I feel I have to fight back when I was born to my parents they named me Muhammad assim Sharif but I never associated with this name I always imagined myself in the clothes of a woman but my parents gave me the clothes of a young boy those were not my clothes this is my real expression this is real of me and I'm very proud on it but I will not forgive any of the human being who mistreated me I will not I will not forget my brothers they say that our society will point us if we'll be sitting with you I am not a criminal I'm a human being works for the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan in Islamabad as an expert on transgender issues in 2018 the transgender person protection of Rights Act was implemented it is a law that provides equal rights to transgender people in Pakistan so I'm a bridge between government of Pakistan and this community Reem assisted a graduate in making a request for housing help from the government.
A transgender person's biggest concern is a place to live. While some transgender people have access to government support, many live off the money that they are given on the streets. Here, they are exposed to reactions like there are good and bad people, most of them are bad, and there are fewer good people. We get a lot of ques from passersby, and the government should provide us with housing. The problem is that if you kill a dog on this side and a transgender person on the other side, the transgender person has no value but the dog does; she's also a human with two eyes, hands, and feet, a nose and a mouth; she talks like us why are we segregated? I know this from the newspapers. If people weren't disabled then their behaviour might have been even worse than this. There are still good people in this market who don't utter foul They seem to share our societal disadvantages, and I haven't noticed that they've received assistance or overseas employment.
I wanted to be a superstar because I have the makings of an actress, but I am neither a boy nor a girl. As a result, I have become nothing, and most transgender people in Pakistan experience rejection from their families when they come to terms with who they are. Rheem experienced this 12 years ago, but she was fortunate because a friend gave her a new home. She now lives with him and his family in Islamabad. the journey of being repeatedly sexually assaulted; the journey of believing I am a useless person. My life changed when I was confined to a bed for about a year. During that time, I kept asking myself, "Dream, why are you wrong? Why does this Society always target you? Okay, there is no room for me in society. Okay, there is no space for me in religion. And I don't care anymore. I'm like this 2020s transgender protection cell Corporation of the Pakistani police."
Most transgender clients arrive at our office complaining of harassment, mental strain, and threatening phone calls. They also frequently have financial issues. The Punjab Police Department now has Sister Lay here who gives us time, listens to us, and then speaks to the other party and then our problem gets solved. There has not been a single time when we were not taken care of since we started coming here, thank God we are being taken care of. Transgender people have a lot of complaints about public behaviour. They complain that people don't treat them the way they treat their own brothers and sisters. The guru chela system gives transgender persons the care structure and family replacement they've lost. You may use this money for cooking. Four of her students dwell in this two-room flat, and I'm dying of hunger. Should I go grab some food or should I cook some bread now? I identify as transgender. not today, but ever since I was ten. and I will remain one till I pass away. Additionally, no trans person will pass away from this world, koibi, because they are content in their own world and we are all living happily in our own. We also have brothers and sisters.
The Women of the World Festival is taking place in Karachi, a city in southern Pakistan, where fathers and sons, gurus, and students coexist peacefully. Reem and other transgender community members speak on a panel to discuss the state of the world today. The goal of conservative parties is to change the transgender rights law. The Senators are misinformed because they believe that only intersex people are transgender, and they also believe that these transgender people are the cause of sin.
This legislation is all about basic human rights, and even though the first steps for their rights have been taken, transgender people in Pakistan are not free to choose their gender; instead, they are marked as X. I am alone because of my reality, and I'm happy to be here even though I feel like these men are cowards because they won't accept us voluntarily, so we have to use that kind of stick in order to make our visibility strong and to make to to make our acceptance accepted. What is this ex-giving to us, no privilege? We cannot get married, and that is something that is very important to me. In the same way that a woman is brilliant and attractive, transgender is our adjective. For me, being a transgender woman, this means that we seek social affirmation from society to treat us as women.
