New Challenge I'm Facing Because of My Ameno Amapiano Song - Goya Menor
Goya talks music and Headies

Goya Menor, the hitmaker responsible for the ultra smash hit song "Ameno Amapiano" took home the Headies Award for Best Street Hop on Sunday. But now, the singer is complaining about the challenge that the song is giving him.
Speaking during a new interview shortly after winning his Headies Award, Goya opened up about the challenge that "Ameno Amapiano" is giving him as well as his thoughts on receiving the Headies Award. Here's what Goya Menor said.

During his interview with Arise News, Goya Menor was asked "'You want to bamba', that was the December 2021 hit and we're all saying okay Goya Menor is going to give us some more music as the year progresses. But it looks like people are not ready to move on from this song. Does that bother you? Cuz you put out "Bounce", you did a video for it, but it's like people don't want to move on from Ameno Amapiano Remix?" Goya said in response:
Yeah, my fans, they love [the song]. They're not ready to move on yet. I think that's the challenge I'm facing now. I'm producing other good stuff but my fans are not ready to move on yet. I tell them "oh I got Bounce", they're like "oh Bounce, I love Bounce but still we want to bamba". I just dropped a single now "Grace" with Lade, that single is like 105 over 200 top Shazam songs right now. It's really doing well, it's really doing well, but still they sing "Grace e follow me, you know I no fit carry last", they're like "we love this one but still, we want to bamba". I don't know, I don't know.
Speaking about winning the Headies Award for Best Street Hop this past Sunday, Goya Menor said:
Everyone in my team was expecting, but whenever I'm nominated for an award, what I do, I don't put in my 100 in case it didn't come, I won't be that broken. But on this one, I have checked the category. We know that we are supposed to get this, but we are still on the other side of "if it didn't come, no problem, we move on. I congratulate the winner." But when we were announced winner, woo! While I was running to the stage, I ran past the stage. I had to stop, come back, take the way to the stage. That category was like Champion's League. Champion's League Final. Everybody was like this category, "you want to bamba" suppose. It was a hot category but still, majority of the nation, that is the whole of Nigeria, was like "you want to bamba" suppose to get this. When I went to my Instagram, over a thousand stories tagged. Everybody videoing their TV, congratulating, some where crying. Like I don't know how to say thank you to these guys. I love you all. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for voting for me. Thank you. We did it.
That is sometimes the cost of having a song that completely blows up out of nowhere. Following up or replicating that same level of success is often hard. I'm rooting for Goya Menor. Hopefully he's able to make other songs that match up to the level of success of Ameno Amapiano.
That's All.
