Nevada Governor Sisolak Imposes "New" Restrictions

...says we are headed for another full lockdown...

Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak issued new restrictions Tuesday night, calling it "Stay at Home 2.0", and imploring residents to do their part or face larger restrictions that could destroy our already flailing economy.

Thank you, Governor Sisolak.

But I fear it is too little, too late.

I'm not a naysayer and I try not to be negative on the whole. But when I heard the new restrictions, my first thought was that he'd placed a bandaid on a gaping gushing wound already wrapped in futility.

Nevadans are, as is the rest of the entire world, tired of this Covid19 stuff. We are flat out exhausted and worn down and frustrated and...

We are tired.

But we also have to recognize the very real issue that is before us. Numbers are spiking all over this country (and the world), and unless we get our bleep bleep bleepity bleep together, we are facing another full lockdown, further wrecking our very fragile economy.

I couldn't care one bit about the economy at this point. We (my family and I) are in the middle of becoming one in six businesses who could not survive the pandemic.

When we reopened in late June (several weeks earlier than originally set by Governor Sisolak) I said it was too soon. I felt the Governor had been pushed to up the reopen (and with personal gains for him to do so) and I feared we would end up here.

I don't like being right about this kind of stuff.

When we re-shut in early July (do the math, we were re-open all of two weeks) due to one single Covid19 case, I said, this is no way to run a business, particularly one which runs on having clients be consistent with their treatments.

I don't like being right about this kind of stuff.

When we reopened (again) in late July, I said it all seemed pointless. That if the experts were correct, the entire nation could be facing total lockdown (like the spring) by Thanksgiving. Especially given the disparity in what is recommended to help curb the spread and what folks are actually doing.

I don't like being right about this kind of stuff.

I sound so negative. I am trying to be practical.

When we reshut nearly 4 weeks ago, this time for multiple cases of Covid19 reported directly linking to our small med spa, I knew this was the beginning of the end for our family business.

Stay at Home 2.0 recommends strictly limiting out of the home activity, wearing masks at all times outside your home, wearing masks in the work place...

...wait. Isn't this what we should have been doing all along?

He didn't really up the restrictions; rather reinforced what have been the loose instructions all along.

You can read AND watch his remarks right here.

But he was very clear on one key point.

If we don't get our s**t together, the state would be forced to employ more strict rules, akin to the spring lockdown.

I know we can't afford another lockdown. But that's the path we are on because we aren't being good listeners and we aren't working together to get this virus under control.

Blame the federal government, state, local. Blame us all. We are tired. I said. But NONE of US should be surprised by how we ended up here with Covid19. We were given fair warning. We simply haven't heeded it.

And I really don't like being right about this kind of stuff.

Stay safe, stay smart, stay you...

I am writing to help save our small business. You should know that we aren't reopening. But we do have clients to take care of (they come first) and other debts to clear up. We are hoping to do so without having to claim the dreaded B word. Read more here about how you can help - all it takes is your eyeballs, and you are appreciated more than you know. <3
