My Storybook

A Story Within a Story

By Diana KingPublished 5 years ago 3 min read

Most people never believe me when I tell them, but my name is Andromeda, and I have some of the craziest things happen in my life. People tell me thingsthey would never tell another living soul and I find some amazing things. This is such a story. A story of something crazy, something so unbelievable you would think that I made it up.

On what I would consider a perfect autumn day while sitting on a bench in Central Park; I found a big black notebook. It looked used, but well kept; you could tell this black notebook really “belonged” to somebody.

Of course, me being me, I decided to open the notebook, and inside it reads “If you find this please read the first story , and then kindly return my book to me. Thank you.”

Her name and address, I will omit for obvious reasons.

Now I knew this was all sorts of weird, but I had been going through some things and finally decided you only live once, so what the heck! I turned to the first story in her notebook (there were many) and I begin to read.

This is her “story”.

So my hope is, as I write this, this my first memory of you; that somehow it find you, and you remember me too. My first memory of Earth is not one you would think, and not really one you would want to make up. I remember Feeling so much excitement and anticipation to finally be here. I know what I look like because I remember looking at you, we being a mirror reflection of one another. We being these beautiful light crystal energy beings that favored the dragon. I remember we came by way of the Andromeda system. I remember passing by Jupiter and playing and playing in Saturn’s rings. I remember the feeling of heavy density hitting our bodies and I remember entering into the Earth’s atmosphere just as their sunset. We quickly decide to add to our color but not change our form. I fell in love with all of the colors of the ocean. The hues of blues and greens sparkled, and were so very captivating for me.  So I chose to become a “water dragon”.  You fell in love with the orange and red glow of the sunset. Choosing to become what the people here would call a “fire dragon”. I don’t really know why we came here. Try as I might, I just can’t remember that. Can you? All I know is I’ve been looking for you for a long time, for you are now and always have been my home.

That’s it. That was her story, which actually kind of reads more like a love letter or a journal entry. At least I think so. It’s a great entry for My Storybook, and I really love that!

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot the end of my story. I went to the address on the book and all I can really say was that she was very kind, very mysterious, and ethereal in appearance. She said “that she left her notebook in parks all across the world in hopes that one day her heart finds his way home.” Which I think is quite romantic. She also gifted me $20,000 for reading her story and actually returning the notebook! Which of course, if you remember I was going through some things, and definitely in need. To anyone reading my story, I say this. If you ever come across this particular big black Moleskin notebook, do yourself a favor; read the story and return it to its owner.
