In year 2020,the World Health Organization (WHO) declared an outbreak a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC)on 30 January 2020,the outbreak was discovered in Wuhan in November 2019 and soon began to spread across other countries.the name of the disease is coronavirus disease 2019 because it started in the year 2019 and was abbreviated as COVID-19.

In Nigeria one of the countries in Africa which unemployment rate was 12.3 percent,among them were youth that are skillful and hard Working but because of the country economy they only live from hand to mouth.

On February 27,2020,Nigeria recorded its first confirmed case of Covid-19, which was a 44-year-old Italian citizen who had arrived in Muritala Mohammed International Airport,Lagos,Nigeria at about 10pm on February 24,2020,via a Turkish airline from Milan Italy and that’s how Covid-19 started in Nigeria.

As the number of confirmed cases of the disease continued to increase across the country,the federal government of Nigeria declared a total lockdown from 30 march 2020 to 15 may 2020,as part of the global effort to reduce the spread of the virus,many people were not happy with this decision but in other for them to be saved and with the look of things they had to obey.

It was a tough time for many Nigerians especially the middle class and the poor people,they had to manage the little things they had at home because no one was allowed to go out to buy or sell anything,people were angry and frustrated little did they know that they about to discover something huge.

There comes TIKTOK created by Byte Dance,it was released in September 2016,during that time not everyone knew about it, because of the idleness and boredom of the people due to the lock Down everybody began to engage in making videos and creating content,they also learned about how to make use of the TIKTOK App and also how to make money from it.it helps so many people during their stay at home and soon it began it became popular with teens in 2019,the TikTok app is a platform with significant cultural power,even among adults.and soon content creators began to make money on the platform through views,sponsorship,collaboration,affiliate partnerships,and by collecting gifts.

The growth of the digital platform has given many young Nigerians a leeway out of the burden of being unemployed,the rise of TikTok has helped to create a new job pathway for its community of creative individuals due to its ease of entry,the platform has reduced unemployment among youths in the country,youth employment in Nigeria is a critical issue that continues to impact the country’s economy and social ability.

COVID-19 lockdown lasted from a few days to weeks and was later eased to a night curfew(8pm to 6am)from May4 to May 17.The curfew was later amended by many state,the government sometimes end the lockdown and announced that it would continue again and this last for a very long time until the virus was fully eradicated,then people came out fully and started their businesses without the fear of being infected by the virus,during the lockdown many people discovered their talents through the help of TikTok and some became a full time content creator,so they no longer looked for job because the app pays them well and not only that the app pay them well its also create job opportunities for the people.

TikTok is now the popular social network that lets you create and share fun videos and content with all your friends and followers,it is a social media platform for creating,sharing and discovering videos.the app is used by young people as an outlet to express themselves through singing,dancing,comedy and lip-syncing,and allows users to create videos and share them across a community.

Due to the opportunities that the app provides its helps to reduce the rate of unemployment in the country and not only that companies can use the app to advertise,open roles and reach candidates,the platform also guides marketers through the whole process of creating ads,setting budgets,reaching the right audience and analyzing campaign data,they also helps small business owners to expand their audience so they can sell more,they help increase brand awareness, TikTok Shop has also offered companies a way to sell their products directly through the app.

Years later The country unemployment changed from 12.3 to 4.3 percent with the help of the app that was discovered during the pandemic many youth bought houses,cars and luxury things for them self through the money the earn on this app,many businesses grew and many unemployed youths became content creators and also worked from the comfort of their homes,the TikTok app has really helped in achieving many people goals and also help the country as well by creating jobs opportunities for the people,within the space of 4years the unemployment rate of the country changed drastically through the the help of this great app,people could not stop talking about how their lives has changed through the app,women can now stay at home to look after the kids and also earn money from home through the platform,it has been a blessing to the people of the country and they sometimes remember how the pandemic started and how they were told to stay at home,some people complain while some people channel their frustration to making videos and posting them on the app and that was how they became famous and wealthy.

The pandemic came and that moment was a scary moment for the people of the country Nigeria it was also one of the toughest moments for the country but it was also the moment that made the people discover their self and also discover the great social media platform that was able to help to reduce the unemployment rate of the country even those that are living in poverty many of them where able to achieve their goals and also live their dream life through the money they earn from the app and the fame it brought to them.
