Mental Health

Lets put an end to the stigma

It's not a Weakness, If you learn to harness it's strength, Embrace that which makes you Unique

I have found, that with a diagnosis of Schizophrenia, there are so many people, and places, that choose to discriminate, and stigmatize those of us who suffer. Recently I went to donate plasma, and was going through the medical questionnaire with one of their staff members, when we came to the question of what one of my medications was for, I was open and honest about my diagnosis, and due to their discriminatory policies, they placed me on a permanent deferral list.

I was not only extremely insulted, I was highly offended, and left the facility with a smile on my face none the less, and made sure to tell them all to have a wonderful day. I am coming to realize that those of us who do have mental illness, are in many ways, much more capable than those who do not, and the reason I say this is because while the onset of symptoms, in relation to schizophrenia, may be daunting in the fact that sensory overload can take place quite easily, when we take the time to research our diagnosis, and apply un conventional methods (in my case) of uniquely different treatment modalities, instead of just taking the meds that only mitigate some of the symptoms, this supposed weakness, becomes such a great source of strength, that I am grateful to have such a diagnosis.

Through research and application of that which I learn, utilizing sound, meditation, physical fitness, consciously directed, and present centered attention, in reality, the strength that can be obtained is something that sincerely borders on supernatural. I have done my homework in regards to my own diagnosis, and have utilized frequency therapy, using solfeggio frequencies, and a barrage of different alternative treatment methods, placing special emphasis specifically on Nutrition, at this point in my life, I am a stronger person now, than I have ever been before, and I have experienced increased motor function, cognitive awareness, intuitive insight, and I now work in the mental health sector, working towards helping others to not only heal from the traumas which led to their diagnosis of mental illness, in the many forms which it can present itself, I have also now been recognized as an inspirational force, due to the fact I have not allowed my diagnosis to hold me back.

I share my story with those for which I care, and in so doing, their treatment seems to be much more effective. When someone who suffers from mental illness, sees another individual who has a similar diagnosis, taking charge, and not just setting a good example for them to follow, I ensure that I share the knowledge of those avenues of treatment which have helped me, with those who have not had the chance to obtain the knowledge or taken the time to research ways in which they can fully heal, and not just heal, but transcend the stigma which society has placed on us.

I have had very uniquely inspirational experiences in relation to my diagnosis, and with that being the case, I am setting a new standard for those who may be on the spectrum. It is the greatest blessing one can experience, when we are able to take something that many people fear, and transmute it into what I am beginning to see as a form of evolutionary advancement. Doctors tend to treat the symptoms of a disease or illness, instead of treating the root cause from which the illness itself stems from. I have learned that many who suffer from mental illness have a level of intelligence, which has the capacity, to change the world for the better, as long as they have the right type of guidance, information, and treatment that is conducive, not just to healing, but to further growth as well.

I say this with the utmost sincerity, and honesty, speaking from experience, never allow someone to tell you that you are less than you are, due to having mental illness, because those of us who do, if we temper our condition, and reshape ourselves, mentally, through spiritual practices, and the application of knowledge which is truly oriented towards healing oneself, there is truly nothing we are not capable of.

Never lose hope, and no matter how hard the battle may become, you always have a friend in me, and I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that you can truly do anything you put your mind to, including turning what has been termed mental illness, into exceptional mental strength.

Labels create segregation, and fear, which causes separation, lets combine our efforts to not just heal our afflictions, but utilize our unique talents to become inspirational forces for others.

Brightest Blessings.
