Conversations I Wish I Had #2
To be quite frank, I don’t like you. And why should I? You were the final wedge between me and someone I loved. I’m not saying it’s 100% your fault. It does take two to tango (or in this case, to cheat). Some of the blame goes to him as well. But you guys are together on this one. You were two peas in a pod.

Dear, Whoever Will Listen
A letter to anyone who will listen. I'm always very shocked when I find out somebody likes me. I just recently found out that someone that I have known for YEARS has had a crush on me... well, pretty much this whole time. The last time I saw this person was when I went with his family (who, by the way, are very good friends of mine, it’s also how we met) to meet him and a few of his friends at a ski lodge. His dad sent us down to the van to get something, and we sat and talked for a little while, then he invited me to kiss him.

Why Cushioning May Be a Good Thing
For those of you who have been religiously reading my column for the past three years (thank you!), you may have noticed my cynical turn for the worst. Even us so called dating “experts” are pained to see the slow strangulation and subsequent death of real romance and old school courtship. It leaves me scratching my head and wondering what’s going on with the world these days.

Choose Wisely
J.R. and I continued getting to know one another. I told him I had two kids and was currently in a relationship that was seven years old. I explained I was pretty happy with my relationship, but was looking for someone to talk to because I was lonely.

What to Do When You Realize You and Your Partner Have Chemistry
Chemistry is defined as a strong attraction between two people. But when asked to explain the how and why of sexual attraction, many are left scratching their heads. One thing I know for sure is that sexual chemistry is based on more than looks alone. That’s just one tiny part of the equation. There’s also the way the other person smells. The two of you could have a spiritual connection, possibly from living past lives together. Also, attraction is very strong when two people have karmic patterns that need to be worked out (or these patterns will keep repeating). I truly believe that two people are drawn together in order to fulfill a special purpose, learn lessons about themselves or about life, or to figure out what it is they desire in a mate.

Exes and Oh's: Part 6
SERENA I could see why the boys enjoyed the outdoors so much. The sunrise was absolutely stunning as it slowly paved the way for a new day and illuminated the sky. Morning dew cleared up as I sipped on my morning chamomile tea with honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon and I watched nature come back to life on the old porch swing. It was the middle of October and the simmering Texas heat was slowly decreasing by the day, which I couldn't be more grateful for. My hair needed a break from the humidity.

How To Deal with Breadcrumbing
Dating in the modern world is getting super confusing and chaotic. With all these online dating sites and apps, people tend to get a misconstrued view of the world and begin to think that there are millions of options. However, nothing could be farther from the truth. While there are plenty of single people out there, meeting someone you truly connect with is a rare and precious thing.

Yes, I’m Mixed, Yes, You Can Stop Mentioning It
Okay, short rant. This wouldn’t be a big deal if it didn’t come up so often. Why does it come up so often? Well, it’s kind of written... on my skin. Somehow, people think that my being mixed means they can say whatever they want. As if I’m in some undefined race purgatory that exempts me from being offended.

Was It Love?
He’s a year older than me. We met when I was 13 years old, yet we didn’t technically “meet.” We Skyped for hours on end, talking about things I’ve never even thought about. I looked forward to speaking to him and to his friends after school or when I wasn’t at practice.

Ten Things I’ve Learned Falling in Love With a Scorpio
Some don’t believe in astrology or in the idea your birth time and date could successfully predict your behavior. They believe we are all floating through life and despite sharing identical backgrounds, upbringing and parents, we just miraculously have a completely opposite personality than our siblings. Birth order may play a role, but after three kids, even that becomes vague and inaccurate. The fact that we are generally 65 percent water, and water is affected by gravity should be evidence enough that heavenly bodies affect us just like the moon affects the ocean.
