Sports events bring up the ugly side of humans. I've written about the colorism and bullying that came up during the AFCON 2023 games in Africa. The games that were delayed and played in early 2024. The many Africans from Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa that showed their hatred for darker skin and their love for lighter skinned women.

Apparently this was the first time many saw Cape Verdeans, some of which are lighter in skin color. Because of course many Africans seem to think in order to be an African one must only be darker in skin color.

One Ghanaian went on a rant called the men's football (soccer) team "light skinz" adding in, "we dark skin niggaz lost to a bunch of light skinz!" Which was the typical hatred I lived through in Ghana. Everyday and every where I went, I wasn't a "real Black person!"

Their ignorance is loud and never ending, apparently no one seems to care though, but I write about if often.

This time it was from a Jamaican woman from her own Jamacian people as she was representing their country. That is the saddest part about the entire situation, instead of supporting their country they decided to insult her.

Many of her Instagram posts show that she's been bullied for years, one post from the Jamaica Obsever shows she was bullied since she was a young child.

This issue is so bad that the newspaper the Jamaica Observer deleted their article on her speaking about colorism. Here is why I believe her when she says that Jamaicans are bullying her and I have a lot to unpack.

There are several posts one below from the social media platform formerally known as Twitter. This reasoning is total BULLSHIT and I call it!

Again like Ghana, where people are bullied for being dark skin, despite the fact that most of the Ghanaian population are dark skin, where is the line? That's just it, there is no line, just a bunch of hateful people that pick and choose who they want to bully.

Just like with my life in Ghana, for some reason strangers decided to pick on me daily, no matter what. While so many Black Americans procliaim the lie that Ghana is so perfect and they've been living in peace in the 2nd highest scamming country in Africa where they even bully and scam their. own people.

You can never tell the line where one person who is dark skin wil say that they've never been bullied than anothe person who says that they always were. I've met a man who was what most people in the United States would place as brown skin, however he confided in me that his family called him "darky" all his life.

JAMAICANS are verbally ATTACKING Junelle Bromfield (Girlfriend of USA STAR Noah Lyles) Calling her "Black and Ugly"

On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, Jamaican 400m Olympian Junelle Bromfield posted on her

Instagram stories: “For all the [Jamaicans] in my inbox coming for my complexion…Calling me black is not [an] insult. This black is gold!!” Her words were written on a background featuring her beautiful, unblemished dark skin. The level of vitriol which has been meted out to this young woman, who has represented Jamaica in athletics since she was eight years old, is astounding and unfortunate.

Thousands of people on social media have turned against Bromfield over ‘pillow talk’ with her American partner, World Champion Noah Lyles. They have remained steadfast and relentless in pursuit of her head as they trail and troll her across platforms to punish her in a manner akin to that which was meted out in The Scarlet Letter.

As I observe in awe, I can’t help but ask: Have Jamaicans forgot who Junelle Bromfield is?

In 2016, Bromfield, a former St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) student, completed an exceptional treble at the 106th staging of the Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships at National Stadium in Kingston. The impressive athlete claimed gold in the 400m, 800m, and 1500m individual events, and returned to anchor the STETHS 4X400m relay team to gold. Her performance not only thrilled onlookers but is forever etched in history as one of our ‘Champs’ greats.

Some Jamaicans decided to call her a liar, however this once again is possible as colorism and Anti-Blackness runs deep from Africa, to Black America to the Caribbean islands.

Below watch a video of Sister Afia a Ghanaian speak on how she was bullied for being dark skin. I will soon write about her story to show the hatred many have for their own dark skin.

Sister Afia is the same complexion as the majority of Ghanaians, there are many that will once again claim they were never bullied for being dark but she was.
