How it all started

I started making money online when I was working a full time job. I knew that if I could find a way to make extra income, it would help me reach my financial goals faster. While there were many options available, none of them seemed like they would be the right fit for me.

I was looking for ways to make money from home but didn't want to be tethered to a desk all day long and do nothing but sit on Facebook or Instagram (and even then, social media isn't exactly considered work).

I wanted to know how I could make money from my blog so that I could pay off debt and save up some cash without having to worry about whether or not I was going to get fired and lose my job at any moment! That same thought process applies when it comes down your website as well - what happens if someone decides not only do they not like your content but also don't want anything else with YOU EVER AGAIN??

The hardest part was starting

The hardest part was starting. Once you have the idea and are ready to take action, it can be difficult to just get started. This is especially true if you're used to a traditional job or salary where everything is laid out for you - you know exactly when your next paycheck will arrive, what project is going on next, what boss expects from you. But in online business, there's no such thing as one simple step that leads directly from A to B (though sometimes there are). It's more like an endless maze of choices and decisions that need to be made at every step along the way - and if any of those steps don't go well, then the whole project could collapse before it even gets off the ground!

At first this felt very scary: What if I make some bad decisions? What if my idea doesn't work as planned? What if I fail at this? But over time I realized these fears were actually based on false beliefs - and once I realized how untrue they were, they stopped holding me back!

My first affiliate marketing sales

I was so excited when I made my first affiliate marketing sale.

I had just started learning how to make money online, but I'd been following a program that showed me how to set up an account with Amazon and get started selling products as an affiliate. It was only about $20 in total for the entire process, so it was totally worth it - especially since I knew that if I followed their instructions correctly, there would be more sales coming my way soon enough!

The first day after my initial purchase, one of the books sold on Amazon through my link. That meant that someone clicked on my link in search results and purchased something they wanted from Amazon (which is exactly what you want your readers or followers to do). It was such good news - and then I realized: next stop: making money off this!

Finding the right products to sell

You need to find a product that people want, but it's also important to find products that sell themselves.

• In demand: The product you choose should be in demand by both customers and affiliates.
• Easy to sell: Your product should be easy to sell on your own website (website traffic), via PPC (pay-per-click advertising) and through affiliate networks like Amazon Affiliates, Ebay Affiliates, ShareASale or Commission Junction.
• Easy to promote: You want a product that has good marketing materials such as graphics, banners and other promotional tools you can use in the field of promotion of your business with minimal effort on your part.

• Easy to ship: You want a product that has no shipping restrictions or high shipping costs so it does not become an additional cost for the customer after buying from you instead of somewhere else online where there are no delivery charges associated with their order made from another merchant but sold through one common platform called ecommerce/websites where anyone can buy anything they need at anytime anywhere on earth 24 hours per day 365 days per year without having any restrictions by time zone differences which means once someone enters into an online store like Amazon then they can purchase products regardless how far away geographically speaking those items may be located anywhere around world regardless whether they live down south near Antarctica continent or somewhere else closer towards north pole here at Arctic Circle region up under arctic ice cap itself!

Building an online business takes time and dedication

Building an online business takes time, dedication and determination. It isn't something that you can put together in a week, then expect to make money right away.

If you're not willing to commit yourself to your new venture and are looking for a quick way to make money online, you will be disappointed. This can take months or even years before any significant income starts coming in - if it happens at all!

You need to be committed if you want to succeed with this type of business venture. You have got to put in the work necessary for success; otherwise, nothing will ever happen for you on the web..

Being an affiliate marketer isn't easy

The world of affiliate marketing is not one where you can simply throw up a website and expect to make money. You need to be willing to learn and put in the work. If you're looking for an overnight success, this isn't going to be it.

I know what you're thinking: "I'm not good at anything." But that's just not true. Everyone has something they are good at, even if it's just being a good friend or family member. You can transfer that skill into the online world by providing value to people through a product or service that solves their problem in some way.

So I created courses on Udemy about making money on Amazon and affiliate marketing in general, as well as my own blog where I post articles about my journey with affiliate marketing and other topics related to making money online (like this one!).

I've been working hard at this for years now, but I don't think anyone could have predicted exactly how much more successful I've become recently. In fact, when I first started out only four years ago my wife told me she thought our business would never make any money! Now she's proud of all we've accomplished together because it shows her that anything is possible when you put your mind toward something long enough :)
