I Stand, But I Stand for a Ceasefire
being more
Take a stand, not for war but for a ceasefire. This isn’t what the media wants, no, peace is not something that makes news. But what is better for not only us but for our children. Do we save a life by pointing our fingers? No, we destroy lives that way. We are playing the blame game and that is the “truth” we’re preaching. It’s this person’s fault or that, but that’s the lies that we are not only being fed but believing. No one ever wins when the goal is to settle the score. Really, what is winning?
Can we say we won with the scars of the “victory” is found not only on us but our loved ones, our neighbors? How many lives were lost in this “victory” Was winning that fight really worth those cutting words that caused someone to take their life? Was it worth it?
I’m far from perfect, I have made so many mistakes, jumped first asked questions later. I been lead by my heart, or my emotions. I haven’t followed my intuition. And I use to think I had to fight every battle, I don’t. Fighting every battle means yours weak when you must stand. I caused people who loved me pain. But grace wasn’t made for those who were prefect, no it was made for those of us who are simply human, and don’t deserve it.
So easy to cast the first stone when you feel justified, when your hurt by senseless words, or even interoperations of what you believe other people think in your head. All that is easy, that is acting on emotion, acting on impulse. But It’s harder to search your own soul, see where you are wrong. That, that is the true battle. Realizing that you yourself is flawed and adding fuel to the fire. Rather it is a little or lot, how can you be prefect when your even adding a ounce of fuel to the flame? We all want the other to change, but reality is, you have to change yourself before there is any hope of the world changing.
So when you tell me to stand, I will, but not for either side, because I will stand for love, for peace. And while I acknowledge there is extreme on every side, rather you are right or left, you have extremist that take things to far, which is where we are at today. There is so much hatred for either side, that I can’t stand for anyone now. Because of the amount of hatred. All I see is people that just want cruelty to beget cruelty. If that is you you’re not superior to people who were cruel to you. You’re just a whole bunch of new cruel people. A whole bunch of new cruel people, being cruel to some other people, who’ll end up being cruel to you. It’s a cycle. A cycle that isn’t worth continuing, it’s a cycle that I won’t be a part of.
We must learn to love unconditionally, making beautiful and learning from our tears, being a light to others who are struggling. We must transform our hurt into hope. We can’t let the negativity and darkness angry, selfish and bitter. Hate breeds hate, but I choose to stand above that. The media that wants me to hate another person, for their own propaganda, No I will see both and show peace and love through it all. Because that is what love is. Love isn’t an emotion, it’s a promise.
It is deeper than we are taught, we are taught when people don’t agree, they are against us, or enemy. We are taught to cut people off heartlessly without a second thought. But that’s how we end up in a war, weak and alone. That’s how the division happens, and the hatred starts to grow.
So yes stand, stand for a ceasefire; stand for Unconditional Love, Learn to love throughout the faults, overcoming the perceived wrongs. Be the light in the darkness, so you can save a life.
