It's believed to be one of the first self-help books, and has helped millions of people the world over.

Sounds fantastic eh? But is it still realistic for our cynical, unforgiving society?

In this book Dale reminds each of us that 'My popularity, my happiness and sense of worth depend to no small extent upon my skill in dealing with people". It is the fundamental truth that underlies the wisdom and philosophy behind this book.

The author suggests, after reading this book, you keep it in a place that's easy to access, and refer back to it regularly. Afterall, human nature being what it is, very few people have the capacity to keep the principles and new won knowledge, fresh and alive in their minds at all times.

From my own experience, this book has helped me develop character traits that enriched my life, with improved relationships of all kinds.

Be An Inspiration To Others

The book is full of human stories; stories that resonate with many of us, there are some wonderful chapters, for example take the chapter: 'How to criticise and not be hated for it' or 'Let the other person save face'. Afterall, destroying someone's confidence, career or life is a hollow victory.

We all need to be careful of the content we read at all times. The internet is full of stories of narcissists, narcissistic abuse, how to deal with a narcissist, etc, etc. However, the stories in 'How To Win Friends And Influence People' take on a more positive philosophy, concentrating on co-operation and collaboration, not in gaining power over others.

'If you want to gather honey, don't kick over the beehive' - The Author's genius is in recognising that everyone wants to feel important in their own way, and if you are the ONLY person that makes them feel this, then you could gain a great deal of respect and some wonderful friends.

There will always be those relationships where you 'lift' another person up only for them to treat you like a 'doormat'. I usually call out this behaviour early to nip it in the bud.

A Book For A New Year - And A New You

The author uses his vast knowledge of psychology and human behaviour to suggest ways of increasing your success.

Suggesting ways to get yourself out of a rut and look for new inspiration and ambition, giving you new thoughts and new visions.

We truly live in wonderful times, the internet is full of opportunities, from short Tik-Tok videos making us laugh and enjoying each day, to YouTube videos with experts in every field of endeavour; illustrating how we could all improve our lives and skills.

Nobody Wins An Argument

I often quote the line 'An Argument is an exchange of Ignorance' - which indeed it is. When you think about it, two people or more have different views, it just takes one person to break the deadlock and find an amicable solution.

Some people are so arrogant that they think they are right about everything. But nobody knows everything, and it takes skill to help them see another side of the equation. This is where this book will help and restore harmony to your life and those you share your experiences with.

The Wisdom of Astrology

Whether you believe Astrology can help oil the wheels in difficult relationships, or not, I have found the ancient wisdom comes in very handy at times.

I first became aware of Astrology around the age of nine, or ten years old. This was a very difficult time in my life, I always came top of my class after any test, and we lived in a huge house - YES, you guessed it, I was bullied as a child. One day when I returned home with bruises and cuts, my mother said nothing, but opened the newspaper to show me my horoscope - it was so accurate and comforting, that I was hooked for life. THERE IS NO CURE, I'M ADDICTED TO FEELING GOOD!

Thank you for reading to ... the End.
