How to find your style type
Copy body fixed practice, because of the nature of practice

What is style? When you think of Marquez, you think of magical realism; When you think of Hemingway, you think of tough guys; Speaking of Li Bai is bold and unrestrained; Speaking of Li Qingzhao is graceful; Monet is impressionism... This is the style, like the masters of various schools in the martial arts, each with a unique set of martial arts skills, to distinguish themselves from others.
Style is an artistic concept with subjective aesthetic characteristics. In writing, style is the unique and distinct style and style presented in the writer's works, and it is also the external imprint of the writer's personal ideas, aesthetic ideals, spiritual temperament and other internal characteristics, so there is the saying "style is the person". A distinctive style, such as a distinctive voice, is instantly recognizable to readers even if the work is not titled. Generally speaking, a writer with style is a mature writer. Style runs through the writer's whole writing career and has a certain stability.
Specifically, the writer's style is reflected in the composition of the work, that is, the novelist's processing of material, refining themes, characterizing, plot structure and use of language in a uniform and unique. Works with truly original style have great artistic appeal, and the writer's unique personality, emotion, thought and aesthetic appreciation will be better displayed.
The factors influencing the formation of style can be summarized as subjective factors and objective factors. Subjectively, it mainly refers to the differences in talent, life experience, ideology, artistic accomplishment, emotional tendency, personality characteristics and aesthetic ideal of each writer, which will inevitably lead to the revelation of creative personality different from other writers in the creation, which may be consciously or unconsciously. Objectively speaking, it mainly means that each writer will be affected by the historical conditions of the time, social environment, nation and so on. Therefore, the themes and themes selected are not the same, and the styles formed are also different.
So, how do you develop your own writing style? I will from the personal character, learning inspiration, continuous creation of three aspects to elaborate.
First, according to their own character to cultivate the talent of writing. Everyone has his own character, some people are impatient, some people are gentle, some people are cheerful, some people are sentimental, every author's character will be reflected in his works. Therefore, it is very important to know your own personality and find out what you like. Take myself for example, to examine and analyze myself, I come to the following conclusions: in character, I am sensitive by nature, fond of silence and nostalgia, fond of meditation, rich in imagination; As for hobbies, I love literature and history, music and painting, and have extreme love for certain things.
So how do you take advantage of these features? Sensitive help I found life distinctive writing material, quiet I think attentively and nostalgic can be extended to the theme of memory, and imagination is of great help to a fictional story, have a passion for literature and history is another source of material, music can also be used as material, infatuation for the perfection of things is a dedicated spirit, author of live the live of the craftsman, What is needed most is focus. Through analysis, I can see that I have the potential to be a writer. When I turned a dream into an award-winning novel, "Kidnapped," and soon published my debut novel, "Virus," I found the antidote. These features have also been repeatedly applied to the works of the next twenty years, such as the historical elements and artistic elements in the Tomb Stopper, Margaret's Secret, The Sky Machine, and the memory theme in The Longest Night, Like Yesterday and Endless Summer. This is my character, my writing style, once formed, will flow through your life.
A word of caution, don't be afraid to repeat, because this is your nature, your "self." As Jean Renoir, the master of poetic realism, said, "A director makes one film in his life, and then he breaks it down and remakes it." Some might question the meaning of repetition, such as when Nabokov, the author of Lolita, was once asked about it, and it was pointed out that his work was "home to repetition" and that fate was "Nabokov's Muse." But Nabokov replied: "Writers who imitate others seem to be versatile, for they imitate many writers past and present. The only person an original artist can imitate is himself." Every man writes according to his own nature, and the style of his work is as different from each other as the faces of men.
Second, learn to like the writer's style, and create conditions to inspire their own personality to determine the style, the gentle character of the writer is difficult to write sharp words, and irritable character of the writer can not write a tranquil article. When a style or writer strikes you in particular, that means it suits your taste and you can move on from there, in other words, learn the writer's style that you like.
For example, director Hou Hsiao-hsien couldn't stand to watch existentialist philosophy when he was young. However, when he saw Congwen Autobiography by Shen Congwen, he was deeply attracted by his light way of story telling and his poetic and primitive language. On this basis, with the influence of his poet temperament and humanistic spirit, he gradually developed his own film aesthetics. Another example is that director Wong Kar-wai's teacher is writer Liu Yi-chang. He will liu yichang shows his extraordinary qualities "drinkers" in the stream of consciousness narrative, with fragmented footage, and sometimes directly made lines of the novel's language, such as the sentence in the mood for love "those years gone, as if through a dusty glass, a see, catch", only beautiful and exquisite, unique.
But it should be noted that there is no need to deliberately imitate, follow your own heart, when reading others' works, to think of yourself as a sponge, rather than a garbage can, absorb the essence, but do not copy, must digest, invest in their own emotions, and then let it out of your pen, into another style.
In addition to learning from writers of similar styles, you can create conditions to inspire yourself. What does that mean? Put yourself in your favorite environment and inspire yourself. Gauguin, for example, became obsessed with the conditions and people of the tropical islands of the South Pacific, and later went to Tahiti alone. There he painted so many famous pictures that when you think of Gauguin, you think of his Tahitian maiden.
Third, continuous writing style is a sign of the writer's creative maturity, is the basic characteristics of a writer in a list of works, if you are a beginner, then it is recommended that you do not think so much, bury your head to write. Your practice in developing writing habits may be invaluable to you. Because the ideas that come up over and over again in these exercises, the way you use narrative forms, the way you use words, will give you clues that they actually show you where your unique talent lies, where you're good at. While everyone may write in more than one genre, this test will tell you which style you write in the most easily. When you are good at the style of the field, persistent work, along with your life experience, the improvement of the level of thinking and other aspects of maturity, you will naturally become a family.
Finally, from the language style, put forward a few small suggestions. First, enrich vocabulary, find their own vocabulary, form word habits. Writing, the accumulation of vocabulary is basic, but not all the vocabulary is suitable for you, this has to do with your personality, talent. When you have read a word, a sentence, have to force yourself to stop, savor, you have found their own vocabulary, it is recommended to copy and record, later read again and again. Second, explore your own narrative language. This is relatively difficult and needs to be explored in practical writing. For example, Hemingway's novels are characterized by a large number of dialogues and short sentence patterns.
This lesson we focus on how to form his own style of writing, writing style is closely connected with the writer's personality, and is affected by social objective conditions, such as, we can learn from knowing their own character, like the writer's style of writing, continuously three aspects to try to, specific to the language style, the two little advice. Although the style of each writer is stable on the whole, the same writer will present different styles in different periods or stages. It is important to find out your own style.
Imagination question for this lesson: If different writers were to write the same paragraph, or express the same content, how would they describe it?
