How To Cure Illness Without Medicine

In another story I published today I mentioned my experience with an illness that felt like it was killing me, which is exactly what it was doing ever so slowly.

A duodenal ulcer is not to be taken lightly. At the height of an attack of pain it was excruciating to the point that I just wanted to die. I asked God to let me die, whatever it took to get some release from the crippling pain.

It all started when I was in the middle of my final exams at university. I started to get pains in my stomach and decided to go see a doctor. I was sent to the local hospital for a barium meal, which is an unpleasant white liquid you have to drink and then be x-rayed. This was followed by an endoscopy, a camera shoved down my throat into my stomach.That was even more unpleasant.In the end all the tests confirmed that an ulcer was what it was.

My doctor prescribed something called Gaviscon in tablet form. It was originally a prescription medicine only. It helped to ease the pain a little, but it did not effect a cure. One day my doctor took me off Gaviscon telling me that there were concerns about it containing aluminium. When I asked him why he had prescribed it in the first place he told me with brutal honesty "We prescribed it because all doctors were seduced by conferences in exotic faraway places. An all expenses paid trip to Bali works wonders for the marketing push."

I actually remember on more than one occasion finding a metallic strip in my mouth as I chewed on a tablet. Not good. In the end the manufacturer got permission to sell it over the counter and to my knowledge it is still available.

Soon after I came off Gaviscon I was put on something called Zantac, also called Tagamet. The active ingredient was Ranitedine. It turns out that this too is problematic as it is claimed that prolonged use can cause cancer. My consultant tried to reassure me that I would be ok, but I still wasn't happy.

In my case the Zantac works, but as soon as I came off it the pains returned. On yet another visit to the hospital to see my consultant I had to wait awhile in the waiting room. And it was there that I found a permanent cure to the problem with no recourse to any medicinal treatments.

On the waiting room coffee table I saw some magazines and leafed through one or two. In one mag I caught sight of an advertisement for a healthy living product, bio yogurt. Apparently bio yogurt has active live culture bacteria, to which is added so called 'Friendly Bacteria' for the intestines. Now by this time I had done a little research on the problem and discovered that ulcers can be caused or made worse by the lack of certain bacteria in the gut. So, right there and then I decided to give it a shot and start taking some.

I took four bio yogurts a day for a month and was amazed with the healing properties of it. From that day on I never, ever got any more ulcer pain. It was cured, forever. To this day, I still take bio yogurts, though not the same quantity, but more than enough to keep the ulcer and whatever else at bay.

Over the years I have found that whatever medicines you are prescribed, there are healthy alternatives with absolutely no side effects at all. For example, I once got something called Bell's Palsy on the right side of my face.This is a scary condition which paralyses all the muscles on one side of your face or another. Food fell out of my mouth, my right eye remained permanently open, even asleep, and glazed over. The most scary thing is that doctors will tell you it is incurable. Either you will get lucky and it will go all on its own, or you will have it forever.

Those days my girlfriend and I had a female friend who was well into herbal remedies. Said friend consulted her encyclopaedia and came up with Camomile Tea. We had to get the Camomile from the Cathedral Gardens opposite where we lived. Guess what, it worked.

From this you can take my word that alternative remedies do work, and often work better than any prescription medicines with no side effects.
