Dear Dallas Mavericks,

Wow! Here we go again! October 24th was the start of the new 2024-2025 NBA season.

During the 2023-2024 season, the thought of going all the way and winning the NBA championship was exciting, exhilarating, and thrilling. If people weren't fans at the beginning of last year's seasons, they were by the end creating a sports tsunami.

Watching Doncic (Luka) and Irving make what appeared to be impossible shots, the viewers at home and the crowd in the stadium went wild. Your belief in yourself and your teammates was inspiring. Your heroic efforts and your gratitude towards your teammates were exemplary becoming wonderful role models for our youth. Indeed, the positive and inspiring teamwork influenced not only the young but the not-so-young.

Witnessing your wins at home and on-the-road, has a ripple effect. You might not believe this, but your fans receive positive vibes, and when you win, they become more confident in their daily lives and activities. Maybe, it's the halo effect!

Saying that it was an awesome journey, is an understatement. You all played your butts off during the 2024 NBA playoffs. Your teamwork was definitely, appreciated.

As a rookie, Lively contributed his youth, energy, and persistence with rebounds and free throws that resulted in wins at the end of extremely close games.

Reaching the finals, the fans were awestruck and exuberant. As a long-time Dallas Mavericks fan, I have fabulous memories of the 2011 NBA playoff games with the Mavs winning the Championship. Who can forget Dirk Nowitzki singing, "We Are the Champions?"

While last year's season didn't end the way we all hoped and prayed for, your fans and I thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for last year's amazing and epic season. Cheers to the memorable unforgettable season! As you know, the Dallas Maverick's record 2023-2024 season will go down in history; fondly and lovingly, remembered for all time.

The journey for the 2024-2025 NBA season began on the 24th of October with a win. With the addition of Thompson, your team has superpowers and the power of three. There are so many amazing members on your team. With Doncic, Irving, and Thompson in the starting line-up, you had five wins and two losses. However, from the 8th of November to the 14th of November, your team played four games and each ended with a loss. It was unbelievable. You were sinking fast in the NBA Standings.

Why? How could this be? Your team has the talent and ability to be on top but you were descending to the bottom of the NBA Standings. The first loss was by one point, the second by two points, the third by three points, and the fourth by two points. Losing stings and stinks! Frustration was setting in. One can only imagine how frustrating and upsetting it was for you as a team. As a team, you win and lose not individually but as a group. Because of the losses, I along with your others was aghast.

After the fourth loss which was against the Jazz, Doncic announced the team had a rebounding issue. Observing the previous games, the rebounding issue in my estimation was right on target. The following game was against the Spurs. In true Maverick's fashion, the game ended with a win over the Spurs by not one or two points but by seventeen points. Grateful that the losing streak ended. Way to go, Mavs!

Last night, the win over Oklahoma City's Thunder was so sweet. The rebounding issue seems to be improving and Doncic resting with a right knee injury was the responsible and the correct thing to do. Having two wins after four losses in a row, I am grateful that you are moving up in the NBA Standings. You are our local sports team hero! Looking forward to another winning season, you are doing a fantastic job of keeping your fans happy and grateful.

Thank you, Dallas Mavericks!

Best regards,

Babs, your Fan

This is a heartfelt and passionate letter to the Dallas Mavericks! You've captured the excitement and disappointment of the recent season beautifully. Your unwavering support for the team is inspiring, and your analysis of their performance is spot on. You've highlighted the importance of teamwork and the impact of individual players like Luka Dončić. Your enthusiasm for the team's future is contagious, and I'm sure the Mavs organization appreciates your support. Keep cheering them on! 👍✨
