Farmer's question, poor man's answer

A beautiful story

By basri hasanPublished 4 years ago 4 min read

Once upon a time, there were two farmers. They were both real brothers. The younger brother's name was Sultan and the older brother's name was Ikram. The younger brother was very poor and the older brother was rich. But the elder brother never helped the younger brother but he always told him that poverty is written in your destiny and you will always be poor and you will die poor.

One day the younger brother thought to himself why not try to improve his condition by walking to another city. One day he left his house.

On the way he saw that a strange thing was happening to a king that when his palace was completed from side and the artisans started working on the other side, the part on the first side would automatically fall down.

The farmer saw this strange thing and stood there for a while. While watching, the king also came there and asked the farmer who are you? And where did you come from and where are you going? The farmer said, "I am a poor farmer and I am going to another city to try my luck." Why does the palace crumble after it is built like this? The farmer promised the king that he would find out and tell him.

When the farmer went on his journey from there, a river came along the way and he was about to cross the river when a big tortoise came out of the river and asked,

"O traveler, who are you and where are you going?" When the farmer explained the purpose of his journey, the tortoise said, "When you succeed in your purpose, remember me. I live in the river, yet I burn inside." My heart is burning all the time to ask someone what is the cause of it.

The farmer also promised the tortoise that he would find out the reason for his constant burning inside and tell him.

As he walked, the farmer became hungry. On the way he saw a potato tree and he broke the raw ripe potatoes and sat down to eat. All the potatoes were bitter. The farmer threw all the potatoes and angrily leaned against the tree to break it so that no one else would eat the potatoes in deception like this. When he began to pluck its branches, the potato tree cried out, "I myself am perplexed as to why my fruit is so bitter. When you succeed in your purpose, then you must ask someone why my fruit is bitter." The farmer also promised the tree that he would find out and tell her.

He was passing through a forest when he saw a hut of hay in a grove of trees.

He entered the hut with the intention of resting. So he saw an old beggar sleeping soundly. That beggar was constantly awake for twelve years and then slept for twelve years. The farmer must have been there for a few minutes, that the poor man woke up from sleep and said to the farmer that you have protected me during my sleep, I am very happy with you. Tell me who you are and where you are going. The farmer stated his purpose. Hearing the farmer's words, the poor man turned his hand on his head and said, "Now do not go ahead and go back the way you came."

The farmer asked the poor man those questions. In reply to the first question, Faqir said that the king has a young daughter who is able to get married. Till the king marries his daughter, his palace will continue to fall like this.

Answering why there is fire in the tortoise's chest all the time, Faqir said that Allah Almighty has given the tortoise a wealth of wisdom but it is selfish. Ask him to share his wisdom with others.

Why the fruit of the potato tree is bitter?

Answering this question, Faqir said that the treasure is buried in the roots under the potato tree. On his return the farmer first went to the potato tree and told him why its fruit is bitter.

The tree said to the farmer, "For God's sake, dig out this treasure as soon as possible and take it with you."

Then he went to the tortoise and told him why he was always burning internally. The tortoise, hearing the reason for his burning, gave half of his wisdom to the farmer.

Finally he came to the king and told him why his palace keeps falling. The king heard the reason and asked the farmer that you will marry my daughter.

The king, with the consent of the farmer, married his daughter to him. After a few years of marriage, the farmer called his elder brother to him. When he came to the palace, he was surprised to see his younger brother. The younger brother said to the elder brother, "You used to call poverty my destiny. It can never be removed, but look, Nature has changed my destiny."

The elder brother was very embarrassed and was thinking that I never helped him in poverty, I don't know what will happen to me. But the younger brother forgave him.

In the end, it should be written that no rich person should despise any poor person.
