Dream Date

In 1996, I met my best friend who became my husband, and this man has had my attention from day one. Now, they say "fairytales" do come true, I believe it because my life has been a fairytale since 1996 never a dull moment. Allow me to tell you about my fairytale life, dream date, and a glass of merlot.

One evening in a small town in Lincolnton, North Carolina now, this town so small if you blink you will miss it but, the peoples there are very friendly and kind. So, I and a few friends were sitting outside of her place enjoying and laughing amongst ourselves, so, this fine specimen of a man came up and joined us oh my God, all I saw was angels, I knew he was the one for me, my heart skipped a beat, and his eyes melted my heart, he was tall, dark, and handsome. Now when I say this man was a Goddess, "he was a Goddess".

So, as he approached us, I caught his eyes and we had a conversation we introduced ourselves and became friends, I was into this man and he was into me. So as the night went on, we had gotten amazingly comfortable with one another, I felt I could tell this man anything. Oh man we talked and laughed the night away it was great. So, the night was ending and as he was leaving, he kissed me on my cheeks and stated he wanted to do this again but when and if we do this again it will be our first date, my response was, " yes our first date" and we said goodnight.

I proceeded to bed and as the next day came around, I was awakened with the sunrise shining thru my window, joy in my heart, and a smile on my face thinking, "I have the right man". I get up to make breakfast then when I was done with breakfast I showered and it was then I received a phone call from this man but I wanted to make sure he was not playing me so I allowed voicemail to pick up and he left me one of the sweetest messages and the message stated," I had a great time last night and I really enjoyed getting to know you and I would love to keep this love connection going, so would you do me the honor in allowing me to take you to dinner?" Now in my head this man said everything a woman loves to hear after listening to the message I waited to see if he would call back and low and behold, he did at this point I was excited.

I answered and on the other end was this nice voice asking me, "how was I doing?' I mean his voice melted my heart my response was, " I'm good and, how are you?" We continued talking for about an hour and I know you would have thought we had said all we needed to say the night before but, no we had amazing conversations every time we spoke.

During this conversation he asked me out I was excited about this plus I wanted to see how he responds in public around a crowd, I said, "yes" and we ended the conversation with we will see each other tonight. The day continued on and around 7 pm a knock on my door I opened the door in my red dress, with a wrap-around scarf, and heels and once the door was opened I was greeted with a dozen roses, I placed them in a vase and we were on our merry way proceeding to the limousine yes limousine I thought I was in heaven, this man even opened my door now, this was surprising because some men allow you to do it yourself.

As we proceeded to one of the finest restaurants taking in the sites and enjoying but once we arrived this man opened my door kiss me on my hand and we interlocked arms, so amazing. We entered the restaurant and were escorted to our romantic table, which was located on the roof of this restaurant, on this table were roses, lit candles glass of merlot and soft music playing this was beautiful and as we gazed into each other eyes I was falling more for him. Honestly, until I met this man, I did not think there were any more good men left because I had been in several bad relationships, when this man took my breathe away, I figured there was still hope.

I was done with men until I met him, and I figured I could not be mad at every man because of a few men's mistakes or fault. I took a chance on this man and I am glad I did. This man gave me a dream date I will never forget 2021 we have been married 20 years and every night has been a dream come true, even though we are married and is very much in love we are still having date nights, and with a glass of merlot.

So, with all this being said, I met a great man, and we have a great life, and I would not have it any other way. Women's when you meet a man, and your heart skips a beat grab him because a good man is hard to find.
