Don't Just Know Your Path, Walk Your Path
Knowledge Applied, Is Experience Gained

Earlier this years I had a performance evaluation at work, and during the evaluation, I was asked to set some personal goals for myself. I had been in a somewhat somber state of being, when these questions were asked. I always try to have goals set for myself, so I recited goals I had already set for myself, mentally, which looking back, I didn't have the inspired confidence about these goals, but this is something, that through the study of consciousness, has returned to me.
I was running this morning, like any other morning, and something shifted in my perception, but it was not a shift in my visual frame of reference, the shift that took place felt deeper, and the best way I can describe it, is as though my focus, and attention re aligned, and enabled me to have absolute focus on achieving the goals I have for myself. My focus had been so shattered lately, it caused me to lack the capacity to fully move forward with the goals I had set for myself in the past. Coming to this profound realization brought with it a surprising revelation as well, I finally knew, at the core of my being, what it is I want to do with my life, in regards to my profession.
Knowing what you want to do with your life can be a very difficult thing to discover, which is why I chose to branch out my varying interests into useful and productive pastimes which I can not only do to help me to be a healthier and happier person, these interests have also allowed me to excel in my professional life, and the original intention for me branching out my interests, was to cope with a loss I had to face, so I found anything that held my interest, that would take my mind off of the pain that I felt at that time.
I am going to plan on starting school in the spring, for a Bachelors in Psychology, because this field is not simply an interest of mine, it has become a passion. I wish to explore the potential implications that the presence of not just the mind, but consciousness itself, has on not just reality as we perceive it, but also on the potential for expanding ones perceptive awareness to not only heal from past traumas, but also to enhance conscious coherence within the world, giving people the tools which will enable them, to free themselves from self defeating habits, and thought processes.
I have always known since I was young, that I wanted to be a healer, and now that I am spiritually and mentally reinvigorated, as well as inspired, I know how I wish to accomplish this dream. I have been studying Reiki for about 2 years now, and have received my 2nd degree attunement, and while I see many people, rushing through the process of learning, to gain more certifications, to expand their professional sphere, this is not my specific aim. I have been allowing the energetic changes which the Reiki attunement caused to occur within me to assimilate with my spirit, and have been harmonizing that energy to my own, so I can be a more proficient healer, and guide for any and all who may seek my assistance. Getting to know the energy of Reiki, before jumping into it's application on others, is paramount, in my opinion, because if we rush into a healing practice, assuming that just because we have an attunement, that the energy will flow without restriction, is foolish.
When performing a Reiki healing on another, or on oneself, the focus of the intention must be pure, without judgement, and to serve the highest good of the person which is receiving the healing. I am a firm believer in never charging money for my services as Reiki, for this reason, when money becomes involved in a healing practice, especially one that relies on harmonizing energy fields, to work together, the concept of money is something that should never enter into such a sacred practice. When money becomes involved in healing, the focus of the act in itself, becomes obscured, and the practitioner could be focusing on the concept of the financial gain which could be made from this service, which will disrupt the healing process, and it also takes away the purity of the practice, in my opinion.
I am working towards becoming a fully certified Reiki Master, A Substance Abuse Counselor, and I am actively pursuing the study of consciousness, and the potential that conscious evolution can have on us as a species, using the knowledge I have gained from my studies, in real world application, taking the information from the drawing board, and putting it to the test in my life.
We can have as much knowledge as we want, but until that knowledge is applied, it will not transmute into experience, we must apply that which we learn in order for it to become truly relevant to us. Don't just know your path, Walk your path.
Brightest Blessings.
About the Creator
Kaylon Forsyth
Knowing the path is far different in experience than walking the path. Knowledge only becomes truly useful once it is implemented in ones life, so that which I write is that which I have experienced, hopefully my words may offer solace.
