DON'T DO IT

"Don't Do it" is what I still receive to date.

Especially for women, I can write a whole book on the "Don'ts".

But the point is not on gender comparison, on which gender gets more do's than don't.

The bigger question is "WHY" are we not allowed to do things we want to do in our lives?

Well! The double-edged answer for this is--- a) Fear of the Unknown and b) Bias.

Fear- is something we all can relate to, as the moment something out of our knowledge area appears before our eyes, our monkey mind freaks out and tells us to take flight. So our well-wishers are always concerned and worried whenever we choose to take a different route unknown to them. But what about biases?? Let me walk you through these biases on a brief note about how they play a crucial role in reinforcing the principle "DONT DO IT".

There are different kinds of biases that go on to make the principle of "Don't do it". The most relevant of them are here:-

1. Confirmation Bias---It is the tendency to seek out information that reaffirms past choices and to discount information that contradicts past judgements.

2. Representative Bais---Assessing the likelihood of an occurrence by inappropriately considering the current situations identical to the past.

3. Anchoring Bias---A tendency to fixate on initial information, from which we can fail to adjust to following news inadequately.

4. Availability Bias---The tendency for people to base their judgements on information that is readily available to them, then get the complete picture.

5. Escalation of commitment Bais---An increased commitment to a previous decision despite negative information

6. Expectation Bias--- occurs when an individual's expectations about outcome influence perceptions of one's own or others' behaviour.

Most of us (men or women) have faced this in our lives. Maybe a lot of the populace is going through or struggling through this right now. So here's what I did to set aside all these biases and fear:

• Stop getting influenced by others' perspectives on life. Everyone's life experiences are different, so there can't be a single rule of thumb for everyone or everything. It's your life. DARE TO BE THE RULER.

• Stop judging other's life or comparing oneself with others because what you see is not the absolute reality. It is a miniature version of WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO SEE.

• Stop looking out for help. It's your problem. If it has come to you, you are the most suitable person to resolve it and grow from it. Mind it, and issues are there to break you. They are contrary to help raise more, provided you learn from it. I am not asking you not to cry in pain, but yes, I will ask you to wipe those tears away, dust yourself up, fight them and become victorious. Do not succumb to fear and keep running from your problems. The more you run, the more it chases you.

• Experiment on Yourself. I am not talking about the Self Love saga; instead, I want you to question yourself. Why should You Love Yourself? Trust me; it automatically comes to you when you get to the root cause. No need for false affirmations, which you find hard to believe.

• There's neither is nor going to be anything wholly positive or negatively. Accept that there are different colours and shades of life. IDENTIFY WHICH COLOUR MAKES YOU BLOSSOM THE MOST.

• Show the world how remarkable you are, not just by the success achieved but by justifying the victory for the betterment of society. It gives the true sense of happiness that the world is chasing after.

My Conclusion :

Make sure at the end you exceed a few significant quotients of life. They are:

• Monetary Quotient --- get that financial freedom; it is a necessity.

• Emotional Quotient--- Strike the right balance between being the fool and empathetic. There's a difference.

• Spiritual Quotient --- understand life and its lessons. Create a better version of yourself.

• Social Quotient --- (Sorry, not the dating one), but talking about the society at large. Making sure work is somehow is an initiative towards developing others in the community.

Turn this; [DON'T DO IT].... to... [DO IT]..... AND WALK THROUGH IT.
