Confessions of a Former Alcoholic Part 32

If I Don't Drink Alcohol When I Go to My Beloved Boss's Bar, It Means I'm Getting Better

I hit rock bottom in my battle with alcohol when the coffee shop I'd frequented for years in my city transformed into a bar six months ago. The present bar's proprietor and the former coffee shop's owner is an adored older brother of mine. Everyone around him thinks he's a kind guy with excellent intentions.

Not only is he an excellent conversationalist, but I occasionally visit him to challenge my drinking skills. While my buddies drank beer at the table where we sat, I grabbed water and snacks.

My treatment is progressing well; however, whenever I sit in front of the computer, I consistently experience a craving for beer. That's the problem.

My job required me to spend a lot of time in front of the computer, so I quit my job and started working on other things. After starting to exercise regularly, I've reduced my alcohol intake to almost once a week (I still drink that with reluctance).

It seems like it would be advantageous to actually say why I hang around bars. Due to my paternal genes, I grew up surrounded by alcoholics, and I consider it beneficial to observe their behaviors.

To give an example:

- There are ordinary drunks who come just to drink. These can be considered regular customers.

- There are also those who come with friends solely to enjoy cocktails and engage in conversation.

- Sometimes, they're acquaintances of the bar owner (sometimes called special customers).

It continues in this manner. Thankfully, I cut down on my alcohol consumption. With my disgust for alcohol, I really want to find a reason why people drink alcohol, but there isn't one. When I asked around, I noticed that some people drink for fun and some for addiction, but during my conversations, I also noticed that they offered various reasons why they don't quit drinking.

Alcohol is beneficial to health, according to a number of studies, and cannabis may help with certain mental issues, as far as I am aware. (I can't say for sure what effects cannabis has, but I don't see how a glass of wine could be harmful.)

I also recall hearing a story from a friend of my father's about how he overcame heart surgery by consuming only one glass of whiskey each day. This is a strange tale, but I'm glad I don't drink because of it.Finally, I feel like I can hate cigarettes just as much as anybody else.

Changing my surroundings and surrounding myself with individuals who can help me grow is my current top priority.I am weary of hearing others attempt to advise me on matters that are insignificant, only to be followed by consistently unfortunate events. Moving forward, all of my attention will be on me.

Specifically, what I mean is that I have improved my ability to anticipate when other people would purposely make mistakes. When someone has a This is because we are all mortal beings.rpose. When confronted with a circumstance such as this one, you should always go with what seems right. The acquisition of first-hand information is really beneficial.

Due to the fact that individuals have made significant mistakes, I believe that it is essential to put an end to this circumstance. Regardless of how much we dislike capitalism or how much we embrace it, order is something that is essential in life. The reason for this is due to the fact that we are simply creatures of the mortal realm. Some people are created to have pleasure in life, while others have a strong desire to be with their family.
