#MyWorstDate
Every human on earth who has been in the dating game has gone through at least one bad date. Most of us conclude that the majority of bad dates come from online dating and apps, but not for me. My worst date ever happened with someone who I (thought) I knew!

The Worst Date for Ms. Caldwell
The worst date for a person is just like beauty; it's in the eye (emotions/feelings) of the beholder. So I will take you to a small part in my past. I had some really good and bad dates, but I as the title suggests, this will be my worst date I have ever encountered.

A Date, Intimacy, and a Police Car
I was dating a guy who was my best friend first. He and I dated for nine months, and he was older than me by a year. Our relationship was fun, but there were moments that made me feel like our relationship wasn’t going to last. Whenever I would try to tell him that I loved him, he would call being in love “foolish,” but beg me not to break up with him. He also thought that he was smarter than me because of his age and the fact that his mother was a teacher. He also walked around the high school with arrogance because his father was the associate football coach, and a former city councilman in our town. Plus he could not stand the fact that he lost being valedictorian in his graduating class to a girl. The red flags were everywhere, but I was young and dumb.

My Worst Date
I’m so glad that I finally get to tell my #MyWorstDate story. I’m now 71 years of age, but when I was a teenager around 18 years of age I left the country town where my family lived and moved to the "Big City" —Perth, the place most teenagers in Western Australia dreamed of spending their teenage years. I loved everything about Perth—its lights, the nightclubs, the music, my work—everything! I changed jobs quite a lot, simply because back in the 60s we could move around and get well-paying jobs whenever and wherever we wanted. At the time my secretarial skills were very good, so my girlfriends and I had a great social life.

From Philly Without Love
It was a beautiful summer day and I was making the 2 hour trek down to Philadelphia. I usually take the train, but this time I decided to drive. I was scheduled to visit my girlfriend for the day, and head back that night, since I had to work at a hockey camp in the morning. The drive was reasonably pleasant, the car was on cruise at 70, and my go-to Bowie station on Pandora was playing. Nothing out of the ordinary. I made it to Philadelphia in one piece. Then things went south in a hurry.

My Worst Date
Alcohol, vomit, and urine: mix it thoroughly to make my worst date. I had never dated; I finished high school in a relationship; we were together five years after that. So I have zero experience dating in the real world. My best friend Shelby knew this and assumed she could help me. Work had introduced an abundance of men and she elected to play matchmaker.

Date #1: The Dentist
I'm embarrassed that I use dating apps. I know it's now common to meet someone after swiping through a profile and sharing a few basic facts with each other through messages, but I would far rather people the old fashioned way. Whatever that is... at a Bar? Grocery store? Work?
