Every year, this holiday celebrates love in extravagant, wild, loud ways and serves as a perpetual reminder to we single people that we made the right choice 😂.

Each year, we all get on our phones to see what crazy romantic thing is going to happen this year, and this year is no exception. Everyday leading up to Valentine’s Day, regular people and celebrities alike have been sharing what their plans for the Valentine’s season is going to be and today I’ll be telling you how 7 Nigerian Celebrities Plan on Celebrating Valentine’s Day This Year.

1. Wizkid

In an interview with ThisDay Style, popular Nigerian singer revealed that this year, he’s spending his Valentine’s Day with his family. Speaking to the magazine, he said:

It’s family o, I will be with my family. Valentine is about showing love, and not just to family but everyone around. So, I’ll be busy spreading love and positive vibes to the people like always.

2. Nina Ivy

Big Brother Naija contestant Nina Ivy had her Valentine’s Day present come early. Her husband bought her 2 purses – a red and a black Dolce & Gabbana purse.

For Valentine’s Day, Nina is trying to convince her husband to also get her another D&G purse but of a different color. Good luck convincing him Nina! Tell us how it goes.

3. Toke Makinwa

Toke Makinwa has always been very vocal about her hatred for the annual tradition of Valentine’s Day. She doesn’t like that love is relegated to be shown so grandiosely only once a year, and she doesn’t like the act of it all. She talks extensively about it in her new vlog.

Still, it didn’t stop the renowned OAP from getting a Valentine’s Day gift. Taking to social media, Toke showed off the Valentine’s Day present she got herself.

4. Pretty Mike

Socialite and Internet personality Pretty Mike seems to be having a very different problem from all of us this year – he’s upset that he’s getting too many gifts. Well, actually he’s upset he’s getting gifts from people he doesn’t know. Posting a video while receiving yet another package from another secret admirer, Pretty Mike wrote:

Honestly this is getting ridiculous, it might sound or look cute to some of u, but this is definitely not my style, I guess the person is feeling like, let me start two days be4 Val, just incase Mike gets bombarded with gifts, dear secret admirer, I’m not that important and I’m not a big deal, don’t allow my instagram page fool u,.... and I don’t know who is giving out my address out there, only a few of my friends knows my place, Yomi, Toye,Dapo,Oloto,Juwon,Uche,Hagar,Tosin, and Lala.

5. Yvonne Nelson

Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson isn’t sure yet what exactly she’s doing on Valentine’s Day but she knows what she does NOT want. Taking to social media, the beautiful actress sounded a warning saying:

If you get me flowers or teddy bear on VAL’s Day, i’ll beat you with it, aaah what’s that!!!! I love flowers but errmm pls.... ok ok ok if there’s an actual gift and the flowers is on the side like small SALAD by jollof rice then its ok

6. Beverly Naya

For Valentine’s this season, Nollywood actress Beverly Naya in promotion of her movie 2 Weeks in Lagos was offering a virtual Valentine’s Date to a lucky winner. The date was to be with herself and the actor Mawuli Gavor. Who knows, maybe date can turn to real love?

7. Temi Otedola & Mr Eazi

If one of Nigeria’s favorite couples right now Temi Otedola and Mr. Eazi didn’t do anything for this Valentine’s season, would the season even be complete?

Mr. Eazi treated Temi to an early Valentine’s surprise. He set up a very lavish lunch date complete with balloons and a trumpeter --- and this is all before the actual Valentine’s day. I’m very excited to see what he’ll actually do for Valentine’s day.
