A Story of Some Hard Truths!

Let me clarify something before we dive in: by “bucks,” I mean money—the green stuff that powers dreams and makes life a little less complicated. But since blogs and algorithms frown on certain words, let’s stick to calling it “bucks.” Don’t worry, the sarcasm remains untouched.

One nice evening, while I enjoyed my cold glass of milk (which is really good for life), I started thinking about an old question: Can Bucks buy happiness? Before you sigh and say, "Oh no, not another person acting like a philosopher," please keep reading. This story is more about funny and relatable things in life than deep thoughts.

Let's start with a dream. Imagine driving in a new car, your family singing off-key, and the wind messing up your neat hairdo (or not, depending on how your hair looks). Where are you going? A fancy vacation where you're not searching online for "cheap ways to enjoy Goa." Sounds great, right? But then reality hits you hard like a sudden notification about a loan payment, and you see that all this fun requires: guess what? Bucks.

Some wise people often say, "Bucks can't buy happiness." It may be true that Bucks won't make you happy directly; however, it can obtain things that make you happy: for example, a good home that doesn't let the rain get at you or a fridge full of food for those late-night snack urges. Let’s not even talk about the relief of paying bills on time without feeling like you’re trying to survive a tough challenge.

But that's where Bucks become really important. This is what I mean to say: a family member gets sick. It's emotionally really hard. If you still have to worry about finding some Bucks, it makes all this worse. Now think about the same situation but in which you have enough savings. You can focus on supporting your loved one instead of searching for Bucks. It is not happiness in itself, but it does help remove a great deal of unnecessary tension.

People say, "Bucks aren't everything." That's true, but let's face it: it is mighty important. It pays for the electricity, buys your child's school books, and keeps you from spending cold winter nights under a blanket older than you. Bucks won't solve every problem, but by gosh, it solves a lot of them.

Now let's talk of vacations: what everyone loves when they have had enough of gazing through the same walls. Sipping chai on the balcony with family time is not bad but sometimes one needs a break. Whether that is in the mountains, a beach, or some resort which only has you eat and enjoy, these vacations are so much more than just glamour; they are for memories one would laugh at years later on. And yes, Bucks assists in making these possible as well.

Let's stop thinking of Bucks as the god of happiness. It acts more like a helpful companion. Sure, it can buy one a bigger house, but nobody can make it laugh at anything. It can give one an expensive dinner, but certainly, it cannot ensure that everyone eats the last piece of dessert to be eaten. Happiness still comes from friendships, good health, and those messy moments that make life in the family so beautifully messy.

For me, it is super easy: a happy family means being happy. And indeed, Bucks make it easy and effortless to keep them so; but it's definitely not about showing off as, in my opinion, only a tool to show some capacity for taking care of whoever I love.

So, do Bucks bring happiness? Yes, but not in all cases. Okay, fine. Let's assume that it helps gain a pretty good kind of happiness. And for those who still think otherwise, let me ask: if Bucks is not important, can I borrow some? No? I thought so.
