Beliefs of an overtired Aries Taurus Cusp.

A bad moon arising

Honestly, I’m in a mood. I don’t know if you can relate but right now, in this moment I am feeling sorry for myself and a little pissed off at the world.

When I saw the challenge about astrology and star signs my brain went right to - this is rediculous. How many people “want” to be into astrology and just aren’t. They read up as much as they can and pretend to be higher than thou and point out any discrepancy they can find in your personal beliefs.

It’s silly for me to be thinking like this right now because I do believe in the seasons, suns, moons, and weather having specific influences. I am on the cusp an Aries Taurus. Born on April 20th. I am not holier than though, and not an expert. I have however followed te star signs in my own way for as long as I can remember.

Being born on the cusp I believe has influenced my being and who I am in nature.

I was once a wild and free individual who battles with people pleasing and sarcastic remarks. I had a tendency to back what I believe regardless if 9 out of 10 people disagree.

Now that I have entered my 30s I have been able to look back on events with an honest perspective and see who and how I really am.

When I was younger I was as stubborn as a - well, a Taurus. Over the years I’ve calmed down and been able to see things from a more grounded point of view and am able to see valid points from all sides. Which isn’t easy in this day. As cringe as it may sound - I don’t agree with all the COVID restrictions. I do however keep to my bubble, wear a mask, don’t travel and avoid as many gatherings as possible. It’s hard to understand both sides of situations and how strongly others feel about one or the other, when I feel equally strong about different aspects of each. To me part of being on the cusp is indecision, or inability to feel strongly about just one side of things.

Growing up and still to this day my mother swears by the planet’s alignment and what sign a person is defines who they are and how they will behave. This kind of one sided thinking was tough for me to grasp. I mean really? How can you judge someone’s responses based on their sign? Also, how do you even know thier sign?! What’s stranger yet is that she was usually right. She has a sense for these things and I don’t know how she does it but believe it because I have seen it first hand many times. We would be out for dinner and she would be watching someone across the room and when I would ask what she was doing she would say she’s a pieces. After replying “how do you know?” Or “prove it” a few times and her marching up to thier tables only to be found correct I began to believe. She was also oddly good at predicting thier responses.... hmm maybe she’s a whitch? My moms a Virgo- however she isn’t very reserved. She does have an eye for interior decorating and feels emotions deeply. So maybe fitting for her.

When it comes to earth and fire. Earth being a part of Taurus and fire being a part of Aries I tend to fall more under the Earth sign.

My love for the land, gardening being alone in the woods is something I am incredibly grateful for. I hear many talk about how they love nature and walking in the woods but when it comes down to it - how many are really content alone with what the Earth offers. Really comfortable relying on what the earth provides. I have had a number of people want to come out with me claiming to be spiritual gurus and real woods lovers only to have the majority get too nervous or scared to go on without state of the art GPS, propane, butane, $100,000 trucks. I live a simple life - not because I have to but because I choose to. Wood furnace to heat my home, water comes from the river, and I do my best to eat off of what growing here. Growing and picking to harvest for the cooler months, winter crops and chickens for eggs.

I do still go out to eat, take vacations, and enjoy a spa day once in a while but I don’t have that material need to feel good about myself.

I believe that star signs play an important role in who we are. I also believe circumstances and childhood have incredible impacts that form us into who we become.

I was born on the cusp, my life has been anything but ordinary. I have seen the effects barometric pressure plays on people. The effects of the moons and the planets. To me it is undeniable there is a power in the stars far greater than anyone of us can fully understand.

We all are who we are and why we are the way we are is answered in the stars.
