Asake vs. His Father: Dayo Amusa Speaks Her Mind!
Dayo Amusa is saying her own

In recent days, the Nigerian entertainment industry has been abuzz with discussions surrounding the relationship between popular singer Ahmed Ololade, known as Asake, and his father, Fatai Odunsi. The situation gained public attention when a video surfaced online featuring Mr. Odunsi appealing for financial assistance, claiming he had suffered a stroke and had been neglected by his son since March 2022. In the emotional video, he stated, "I am Asake's father, the singer. When I had a stroke in March, the last time I saw him was in 2022, and when I call him, he doesn't pick. I'm frustrated and that's why I'm appealing to you; I need your help."
This revelation sparked a myriad of reactions on social media, with many expressing concern over the alleged estrangement and urging Asake to address the situation. In response, Asake sang a song on social media addressing the claims, suggesting that he had previously supported his father financially but felt his father was attempting to manipulate him. He sang, "Even my father wants to cajole me. I used to press money for him, and I do it with one mind. No one can quench my fire. God is the one that is taking me ahead in life."
Asake's song and response also garnered several reactions and one of said reactions came from Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa who has now taken to social media to write her thoughts about this situation between Asake and his father.
Taking to social media, Dayo Amusa said about Asake:
DAYO AMUSA: When Asake covered his face in tattoos, I once remarked that he was either rebranding or masking a pain he wasn’t ready to confront.
His childhood remains a mystery-some say his father was absent, others claim his mother was harsh. But I won’t judge a father who left or a mother who did what she could. What matters is that Asake deserves love, not a public spectacle.
Fame doesn’t heal the wounds of parental rejection. A child raised on “I love you” moves through life differently than one who hears, “I want nothing to do with you.” Some wounds money cannot fix-only deep, intentional healing can.
Rather than judge, I choose to send love to this remarkable artist.
To parents: Be present. Be the voice your child hears before the world tries to define them. A child who feels truly seen and loved at home has less to prove to the world.
As a victim of such circumstances, I can relate 📌
I wish him well.
Dayo Amusa turned off her comments so nobody could respond to what she said about Asake. But what do you personally think of what Dayo Amusa had to say about Asake and his situation?
