Always Be Grateful for What You Have
No Matter How Hard Your Life Is
Most of us associate the idea of parallel universes with the SF movies we saw as children last week. In a recent paper by Mark Manson, however, the author reduces that incredibly complex theory to a subjective perspective on the reality in which we live.
Every time you think about what would happen if you dropped out of school if you didn't break up with your ex-girlfriend, if you won the lottery, you make a scene in your head.
That is your parallel universe. You wonder how your whole life would have progressed from a momentary decision or a set of circumstances that did not occur. Everything unfolds in your mind like a movie, in detail.
Life can be very difficult at times. You have to face trials after trials, and this lowers your mood. Not because those trials are unbearable, but because you focus too much on the pain they cause.
We forget that each of us has to be grateful - especially those who think we have no reason to be grateful.
Why most of the time, we forget that any trial we face brings us not only suffering but also valuable life lessons. No matter how hard it is, don't forget that this path has made you who you are, and you should be grateful for that.
Failures distract us from the simple fact that the world is beautiful and full of wonderful things. We forget to be grateful for the priceless gift we have - our life.
Many times we do not realize how lucky we are. We have people who will always love and support us - because they care about us. We have people close to us who are with us from the moment we are born.
We have friends who will never leave us in trouble - no matter what. We are surrounded by love and care and this is the greatest treasure we can ever dream of. All of these people give us strength, love, and reason to live on. We must be grateful for their existence.
Yes, not all people in our environment can be considered kind and benevolent. Are they also worthy of gratitude? It may sound weird, but I am.
Yes, they treated us badly and unworthily and maybe even tried to hurt us, but we learned very important lessons from communicating with them. These people have taught us not to be too naive and full of faith - and they have also made us stronger, wiser, and more resilient.
We must be grateful to fate for everything it offers us.
You have a roof over your head, you have food on the table, every morning you see the sun above your head, and at night the moon shines brightly on the window. All of these, at first glance, are tiny things, but some of them make our lives real and tangible. And if we are not grateful for them, it will be very difficult for us to see beauty in anything else.
The things that fate deserves to be thankful for include your mistakes and shortcomings. Why? Because some of them make us feel human. No one in this world is perfect and you are by no means an exception to this rule.
Your mistakes help to develop personal qualities and willpower. They helped you a lot to become a wonderful man who is here and now. They taught you how to live to the fullest, how to love without fear, and how to treat people the way they deserve. Mistakes have pointed the way to self-improvement and have helped you to understand life better and better.
If life has hindered you, do not think that this is the end of the world or a sign that the whole universe has turned against you - instead of taking a step back, look around and realize that your troubles are just a point little black in a huge bright palette of the world you belong to.
Life is full of amazing things for which we should all be grateful. And no matter how difficult it may be at times, don't forget to appreciate what you have and who you are.
