Advice I Would Have Given Myself Before Entering Big Brother House - Ebuka

Ebuka talks 'Big Brother'

By Jide OkonjoPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

The Big Brother Naija show is back and this year, they are doing an All Stars season. So many familiar faces like Whitemoney, Mercy Eke, Pere, Angel, and more have returned to the show, and as always, our resident host of the show, Ebuka has also come back to the show as this season's host.

Ebuka is simply not just a host of Big Brother though. In fact, he too was on a much earlier season of the show many years ago. Now, he ushers people into the show and is an aspirational figure for so many housemates who go into the show. During an interview on Rubbin Minds, Ebuka was asked what advice he would have given to himself before going into the Big Brother house. Here is what the media personality had to say in response.

During his interview, Ebuka was asked "What is one thing you wish you knew before going into the Big Brother house?" to which he responded:

EBUKA OBI-UCHENDU: Big Brother was so different back then, what's the one thing I wish I knew. Hmmm, I think maybe just being more self aware and not care a lot about what people say. Be more self aware. If you do something and you believe in it, that is all that matters.

"But then if you say you don't care about what people say, what if it's something you should actually care about - and not caring might actually lead to issues?"

EBUKA OBI-UCHENDU: There are things you should care about, and I keep going back to safe space and people who you should listen to. Cuz you can't listen to a million people. If you have a million followers or five hundred thousand followers, you can't listen to every single opinion. If it's something you are sure of and you know that in your heart it is the right thing, people are going to want to debate that with you. It's not in their place to tell you that. But if it's something you feel you can change about, speak to people in your community and around you, and then maybe you can address it. But I'm not a huge fan of taking too many opinions on my life.

It's very interesting to wonder how far Ebuka would go on this season of Big Brother if he entered as a contestant. What do you think about what Ebuka had to say? Let me know your thoughts by leaving a comment either below or on my Jide Okonjo Facebook post.
