A story about Astronomy

I was so confused. Sitting down in my 3rd grade class she asked me:

“What’s your sign?”

With confusion I replied:

“When she giggles when I talk to her”

Kenza then said:

“No stupid, I am asking your star sign, not your sign to hit on a girl”

Yea… I was more than embarrassed, it did not help that she was my crush. After that I asked around about what is a sign. After telling my friends I was born March 18, I was told I was a Pisces. Unknowingly, I had just learned about my gang. Everytime I met a Pisces, a bond formed that was like brother and sister. Even though we did not know what it meant, we acted like it was a blood bond. The funniest thing is that we would have war with our rival signs. I honestly was really into it. Okay… you got me, it did help that it gave me cool points with the girls.

Fast forward 12 years, my sign is still important to me. It has helped me get away from multiple bad energies. One time, my horoscope said:

Bad energy is out today and stays home.

I agreed, going to school was going to ruin my mood. I did the smart thing and stayed home. BOOM! Like that I escaped a surprise quiz. My teachers work hard, but my horoscope works harder.

Honestly the thing I like the most about astronomy is how positive it is. In a world full of darkness, it really brings shine. You could look up “What defines (any sign)” and you will see things such as beauty, kindness, laughter, happiness, creativity, the list goes on.

When it comes to Pisces you will see things such as psychic. True story, one time I took a government administered test. We got the result the next day and right before the teacher said my score, I said 16.3. His jaw dropped as I was exact. Honestly mine did too, I could not believe what had happened. The next day, I got my friend to drive me to 7-Eleven to buy lottery tickets. Yea… this time my psychic skills must have read the horoscope and stayed home.

Another thing you will read about Pisces is that we are compassionate. This one hits home. I am overly compassionate. I know some will laugh at me but I can’t even kill a bug. Even spiders. I studied abroad in Australia a.k.a Spiderland and did not kill one. They would just chill in my room and listen to my music with me. This just shows you that what you do not harm will not harm you. Most fear spiders, but in reality, most of them are peaceful. This lesson sticks for other things and people in life. As a person of color I think that if people realized that harming others in fear that they do it first is why there is so much violence and hate in this world.

Lastly you will see that Pisces have a great sense of fantasy and reality. I am a prime example of that! I knew about Santa and the Tooth Fairy since the age 5. It was just not logical to me. I did not tell my parents though because I love getting gifts. That’s that Pisces smartness for you. I did tease them though. I would make remarks such as “How come the tooth fairy came during the day even though they are only supposed to come at night?” I did that to laugh at how they would respond.

Honestly I am happy to be a Pisces. Many do not believe in signs and bother to hate on those who do but in all honesty why hate on something that brings joy to someone else?
